Wetting In Public

Recommended Posts

What goes through your mind when you wet yourself in public?

Are you socially conscious of your actions? Do you question how absorbent your diaper is? Or are you comfortable with wearing in public so much so that knowing the fact that you're wetting doesn't bother you? What's your level of confidence?

Personally, for me it depends on how wet my diaper is. If it is a completely dry diaper, I don't really even think about it since I know that no one can tell that I am wearing or what I am doing. Now if my diaper is already wet.. I do tend to think about how much more it can hold without leaking.

I have wet in public several times and always start by wearing a diaper I know won't leak. I don't like wearing plastic pants when I'm out on errands. They tend to have a "clammy" feeling after awhile. Anyway, my latest wetting experience went like this: My wife and I were grocery shopping and were on an aisle with laundry detergents etc. when I thought the time was right to wet my diaper. My bladder wasn't full and I kind of wanted to feel a little naughty, I guess, so started peeing. About that same time, a family of four entered the same aisle, and I could swear the mother looked RIGHT through me and somehow knew what I was "Up to." I don't know if this was just my imagination or what, but, she kept making these quick glances at me, even though I purposely busied myself with other distractions. I would talk with my wife, for example; and not be even looking her way, but would glance her way again and after almost no pause our eyes would meet again. WEIRD! I had never seen this woman before in my life! I hope I don't sound too abstract or something here, but, it almost seemed like she was looking at a three yr. old peeing his pants!! I certainly felt like THAT THREE YR. OLD though! Anyway, it was was fun! My wife was OK with it! No more psychology!! I would like to add one last comment though: Last night I was reading a piece of non-fiction, where it was mentioned, that this man recently lost his father. He was out for bereavement etc., but, when he returned to the workplace; "Appeared to look like a boy again for a week or so." His co-workers stated. This was a gray haired man in his seventies! I hope I didn't steer this topic off track! If I did I'm SORRY.

I'm conscious about the remaining capacity and make sure not to flood ;) Otherwise I pee when and where I have to B) I almost always wear plastic panties so leakage is not an issue :) On days when I'm wearing only light protection and nothing waterproof I use the bathroom 'normally' and reserve my diaper for unexpected leakage

My mother tells me that I and all other toddlers had an "I'm filling my nappy face". She has a photo that she claims is me exhibiting it, aged about 18 months :blush:. I guess that while we're getting used to doing it again as adults, we probably exhibit at least a similar expression. I wonder, even if she didn't quite work it out, if you were subconsciously giving off a similar expression that confused the woman a bit. I doubt she really knew what you were doing though...

I'd like to think I don't exhibit that kind of face now (unless I want to in a place where it's safe to do so ) so like the others have mentioned, my only real thought before peeing is "will this cause a leak?" If the answer is a firm no, my confidence level is high... I realised long ago that people simply don't notice what they're not expecting to see.

I try to keep a vague track of fluid input and output knowing about how much my diaper can hold over time. I generally don't think about it but I try to keep a "fuel gauge" idea of what's going on. Kind of like you don't fixate on the fuel gauge in your car except when you start to realise you are running out.

I wear Abena X-Plus, so when I pee in public, I don't really worry about it. Unless I've been using it all day, there is almost no chance of it leaking if I put it on properly. Although after a while, I do tend to waddle due to the bulk between my legs.

Wow good question, and enjoyed the feed back on this topic. I would have to say that leaking would be a concern of mine, however I think the biggest concern I would have would be the smell. Of course just from wetting for the first time there is no smell, however after a couple of times the smell has to be noticed. I probably do not notice it, being I am always in a diaper and use to the lifestyle...

How about those confined spaces, like being on a bus.... I would think it would be a turn on to be wetting your diaper.... never experienced the bus, however have been in plenty of elevators with a very soaked diaper.... or driving in a car with friends, or even in a movie theater in a diaper.... all of which I have only have had 2 comments that at the time where not directed at me, but where asked... Do you smell piss.... smells like pee here...

So yeh would really hate to wet in public and have the diaper leak... being I do not wear plastic pants all that often...

Thank you

Like many here, I don't really worry about it. I wear in public and enjoy it. On my last trip to Vegas, I wore quite a bit. I know the capacity of the diapers I was using, and they over all were good for at least 2 heavy floods, which is quite assuring , so again, it didn't matter. I had confidence in what I was wearing and didn't worry about leaks. I just let it go when the need arose and carried on. The most memorable time was when we were in the casino at a slot machine trying to see if we could actually 'win' anything, and we took turns hitting the button. I casually peed off and on as we burned the cash we inserted, standing next to 2 others who had no clue what I was doing  I let it go a few times, not worrying about leaks, and just relaxed and had what fun I could ( I don't gamble so casinos are a bore to me)

I have been a D/L for a long long time, and things like this just don't bother me anymore. I hardly even think about it, and its almost become automatic.....which is kind of scary and I am glad (to a point) that I am not 24/7 with this.

As a few people have said in their responses, if you wear diapers on a regular basis, you get to know their capacities and how much you can wet them before you start to have problems with leaks. This goes for the different brands you choose to wear. I am usually well aware of how much I can wet my diapers before having to change them and I'll prepair in advance if I'm going to be gone for a while. Depending on what brand I choose to wear I may use an insert to extend the life of the diaper if I think the capacity is too light. I may wear plastic pants over my diaper or I may not. I am always aware of how much I have wet and how much more my diaper can take and I try and find a private restroom in a store or gas station to change when I'm getting close to the saturation point. I know what diaper to wear depending on how long I'm going to be gone if I decide I don't want to change anywhere. If I know I'll be gone for a while and will most likely need to change, then I'll wear a less absorbent diaper since I'll need to change it once or twice anyway. You learn over time and by experience how to prepair yourself for wearing and wetting diapers whne away from home.

Many years ago I was at a Sears store buying a VCR. I was talking face to face with the salesman and peeing in my diaper at the same time. He had no idea I was even wearing a diaper, let alone that I was wetting it as we were talking.

All I think is to try to keep moving or act like I'm reading something so it isn't blatantly obvious that I'm peeing.

Cat got a ?.How can it be obvious that your peeing? Are you wearing a diaper and no cloths? I gueess after wearing for well over 40 years I know from experance that no one can tell by just looking at you that you are peeing your diaper. As for me I dont even think about it I just go.

I never push the capacity when I'm out in public. My main concern is making sure it does not stick up over my pants and trying not to look to vacant when peeing.

That's the exact problem that I have. I tend to have that "vacant" look while I go. I don't mean to. I just become really self-conscious all of a sudden.

I've become very comfortable with wearing all the time in the last year or 2. I have my body trained to let go when I'm wearing, so I usually wet small amounts whenever my body decides to. Flooding is ok if you're dry and have a good diaper on, and if it's on properly you shouldn't have any problems.

The way I've retrained myself, if I start my day in a diaper, (which I have been now for a good 3+ weeks) I need one all day as the control mechanism is, for the most part, shut off. I change myself before my diaper reaches it's leaking point and I stay aware of how wet I am to make sure I don't smell or leak. I carry a few different absorbancy diapers with me all the time, along with some wipes, spare underwear, etc. So I can stay fresh. If I notice any kind of smell I just blast a jet of old spice body spray into the fly of my pants and that helps if I can't get changed right away.

To answer your question though, I was nervous when I first started wearing but now I wet my diaper where and when I please. I just make sure to stay on top of it to keep from embarrasing myself. Work, home, out, doesn't matter. People only notice when you give them a reason to. I have something like 200 coworkers and none of them can tell when I wet, if I'm wet, or that I'm wearing a diaper. With such a large place, I'm sure I'm not the only person wearing a diaper or other kind of protection here.

I'm sitting at my desk right now and I *was* dry when I started typing this :P It's all about being confident that your diaper will work for you the way it's supposed to.

My level of confidence would be about 6/10 - Generally feeling nervous since I don't venture out while padded as often as I could, but have full faith in the nappy's absorbency.

Most recent was in a DIY store, I'd been out quite a while and needed to go so I picked up something to read so the vacant look wasn't so obvious. That said the DIY stores I've been to are usually full of people milling around like sheep anyway!

Good topic! I've been 24/7 for 2.5 years now yet still am anxious about leaking and showing. I'm only really comfortable and confident while at home and in my cloth diapers. Those can be nice and thick as well as covered by water-proof enclosed elastic baby pants.

Since wearing for 30+ years, and being incontinent, I am totally unaware of when it happens, just know that after 2-4 hours, that I need changing.

When a child starts to develop some bladder/bowel control, the child is aware of wetting/soiling its diaper, and this awareness shows in the child's face. Most people who care for pre and post toilet trained children can easily read a persons face and distinguish the 'wetting diaper' look or 'soiling diaper' look. What that woman in the store seen in soggybobby's face was the 'wetting diaper' look, and it confused her. The reason it confused her was that she normally sees this look in a person much younger than soggybobby, and as a result, it caused it to question her ability, and association with the look to the action.

I just pee when i want to nothing to think about really unless the nappy is already saturated so no sitting down. I did crap myself once when i was in a queue in M + S. Boy the smell... not good lucky there was a young baby also in the queue took the blame..

Always a good thing to have a baby to blame your own smell on!!! But in case there isn't this is why you should carry portable fragrance, for whenever you find yourself messed in public and need a quick fix.

About saturated nappies. Yep, ya need to count your flooding sessions to make sure you won't go over the confirmed limit, otherwise you'll turn your self into a public water amusement park.

May ned to carry a sign:

"Caution...Sitting next to me may get you slightly wet."

Nothing really goes through my mind but I guess that's the problem. I try not to look "vacant" and look busy doing something no matter where I am. Since I mostly wear Abena-X Pluses I do not worry about leaking and just let the freshet flow no matter how bad I have to pee or how wet my diaper gets!
