  1. I switched to a pacifier (Cuddlz blue adult) since going on a CPAP regimen almost 2 years ago. Switched from thumb sucking during sleep. It increased my overjet by 2.8 millimeters and when I wake up after using it all night I feel the pressure it had on my teeth but even if it increases my overjet more (and I've been told by my dentist that it will until a "balance" is met), it's all worth it to me.
  2. I've been "forced' to use a pacifier (life long thumb sucker) since I started on my nasal CPAP machine. I use the Cuddlz blue pacifier and it easily stays in my mouth the whole night. My wife is totally accepting of it (the alternative is loud snoring) and, except for the slight change in my occlusion (my overjet increased a few millimeters) it's the perfect solution. I don't really mind the increased "buck" teeth since my thumb sucking did most of it anyway.
  3. I've sucked my thumb all my life and have the results of it also. Buck teeth, narrow upper jaw, open bite, callous, etc. I can almost put my thumb in with my mouth closed. Other than this it hasn't affected my life at all since I do it when alone, or in front of my wife who doesn't care and, actually, totally accepts it. I'm not into adult babyism or anything like that; it's just a habit of mine that I find very good for relaxing, sleeping, concentrating and more. The only "dent" occurred when I had to go to a CPAP machine for my sleep apnea. So, along with the nasal style I've taken to use a pacifier which stays in my formed mouth easily through the night. I only wish that it was totally acceptable, socially. Oh well.
