  1. Babypc, sounds like you won the lottery.... and they forgot to tell you for 3 decades. It will be far easier without the child(ren) around and it sounds like she’s quite supportive now so be prepared for anything. Many of us are living vicariously through you so don’t let us down. Stay padded.
  2. WBxx is right, practice does make perfect. Well, maybe not perfect but a whole lot better than when I first started with cloth diapers. Personally I prefer lying on the bed but have learned to be able to unpin and repin my diapers when needed such as recently for a urine sample at my doctors office. I should’ve asked her for a bowl and I could’ve just wrung out my wet diaper into that but I did manage to get her a sample without doing that. It’s been about 4 years for me now wearing 24/7 out of necessity and it took about 6 months before I felt like I had it under control and I’m using cloth contour diapers which I would imagine are easier than flats or prefolds. Stay padded.
  3. The use of a liner with cloth does make cleanup far easier. For home night use my usual combination is one or two gauze Contour diaper(s), then a couple of gauze soakers, then a folded terry bath towel and finally a folded terry hand towel for a liner next to my tush. The terry towels are folded enough to fit between my legs but unfolded in the front and rear to form a “V” to catch liquids in the front and solids in the rear. The terry absorbs very rapidly which helps prevent leaks when I sleep on my side. The hand towel works well to remove the solids and once emptied it sprays down easily in the shower. I also wear a gauze contour diaper for going out with one soaker and a folded terry hand towel for a liner. The terry also seems dryer than having the wet gauze against my skin. This system works well for me and has reduced my use of disposable diapers to almost nothing. Stay padded.
  4. Probably uses the ones Joe left there when he was blackmailing the Ukraine into firing the prosecutor investigating Hunter.
  5. I had a moment at the grocery store today that made me truly thankful that I was wearing diapers. I thought I was just passing gas but was taken by surprise and even though I have some fecal incontinence I generally can tell it’s coming. Not this time and I hope it’s not a harbinger of things to come, although it’s of far less consequence when diapered than having it happen without the padding. This has occurred when I was younger but usually it was accompanied with the flu or some other sickness and created a lot of disruption in my normal activities being there was no diaper to catch the deposit. Not so today as the odor wasn’t even a problem with a good fitting pair of plastic pants preventing air circulation. As far as odor is concerned from a previous post I think God made our poo stink to keep us lazy people from recycling which my dog seems to think is a good idea. And people try to tell me that dogs have such a good sense of smell...have they seen where she puts her nose? Stay padded...just in case it’s not gas!
  6. That could be where I picked that up I’m not really sure. It’s as good a guess as any. And yes, stay padded!
  7. Your gauze diapers will continue to get softer and more absorbent with every washing. 1-1/2 cups of vinegar added to the wash water helps to remove the sizing used on most new diapers. This sizing repels moisture and defeats the absorbency of the cotton gauze until it’s removed. I just ordered 8 more Contour ll gauze diapers from AdultClothDuaper.com as they’re on sale this month. They come with a 10 ply gauze soaker pad which helps for nighttime usage. With the quality discount (3 or more) and the 15% discount this month it brings my cost down to about $18 each. Being on fixed income on Social Security I have to watch how I spend my money which is why I mentioned their cost. These diapers save me a lot compared with disposables with the added benefit of being more comfortable (in my opinion). Hope your new additions serve you as well as these contour diapers have me. Stay padded.
  8. The first experience that I had with a UTI is when my wife and I were first married and we had a semi that I drove cross country. We were loading lettuce in the Imperial Valley in California and she was experiencing burning during urination. After a trip to the clinic and picking up a prescription it was soon gone. Forty years later it was I that got the UTI from wearing a disposable diaper and having diarrhea. I had just began wearing diapers for incontinence and followed the instructions about “pointing the male genitalia down” to prevent leaking from the top of the diaper. This allowed feces to contact my penis and with a day or two I was urinating frequently and with great discomfort. I kept telling myself that it would go away but finally went to a clinic when I was at my cabin and was prescribed a sulfa drug antibiotic. After about eight days I was better but did as told and finished the ten day series. Last week I got a UTI again and made an appointment with the clinic right away. They did a culture as well as finding blood in urine sample and prescribed the same sulfa drug which I’m currently taking. I told the nurse/practitioner that I wore diapers due to incontinence and she thought that could be the cause and that I’m old enough prostate problems could be causing urine retention. I’m not sure what the cause was this time but I had a medical procedure done the day it developed and it prevented me from have the procedure I had scheduled for a week later. The only other thing I can think of is that I’ve woken up peeing my diaper while sleeping on my belly which is something I haven’t done for years (the sleeping on my belly part). Babies have small penises that don’t get flattened out like it does later in life. This restricts the flow and causes my bladder to not empty fully and a possible source for the UTI. I don’t have a problem with feces any longer as I use two contoured diapers with two soakers pads followed by a folded terry bath towel and a folded terry hand for a liner. Both towels are unfolded in the front and rear making a V shape with the portion between the legs still folded which makes an effective barrier between the front and rear preventing fecal contamination.
  9. Some mothers I’ve seen while growing up in age of cloth diapers used to do the tuck under of both the leg and waist elastics especially for nighttime. My wife and I cloth diapered both of our children and I don’t remember ever trying this but we had very little trouble with leaks. The extra large Haian pants that I have are probably big enough to do this and my medium Gary high back pants don’t get the gap. In fact they contained soft stool that leaked out of my diaper/soaker while sleeping on my side very effectively. While I appreciate their ability to contain this it does hasten their hardening which leads to cracking after exposure to feces.
  10. This area just below the butt cheeks is where I get a gap with some of my plastic pants as well. Don’t have too many problems with leakage unless I have an extremely large movement or more than 1 before I get changed. I’m usually padded heavily enough to go 18-24 hours before I get close to leaking. The biggest “problem” I have is the venting of odor from this area. Bending over with a load in my diaper almost always makes it clear what I’ve done in my diaper. This only occurs with my large size pullon Haian or my extra large snapon Haian pants. My extra large Haian and my medium sized Gary high back pants don’t have any gaps in these area but I kind of like a little whiff every now and then as it makes feel like a real diapered baby. The snapon pants give this little treat in the snap area without having to bend over. The past several months I had a relatively benign diaper and the odor coming from my diaper was quite mild but the last time I was at the grocery store I got a family pack of smoked beef sticks and I’ve been chowing down on them enthusiastically. This has definitely gotten the old gut bacteria excited as their byproducts tends inflate my diaper and cover with massive butt explosion lately, something that I find enjoyable as long as there’s no one around to be offended by the smell.
  11. Sizing has been an issue for me on many diaper related products plastic pants being one of the chief offenders. Not only are there various fits over diapers including the tight, trim fit and the voluminous, poofy fit but then you have the standard waist, the hi-back and the bikini style and several others. Well after much experimentation I thought I had settled on medium hi-back from Gary, in either of their vinyl thicknesses, or Haian in their standard pullon pants which I have in plain white, a raindrop print, red, blue, and what I thought was red but turned out to really be a pink. These pants are all in large except for (2) pair of the raindrop print and (2) pair of plain white pants that I also have in both large and extra large which is where my complaint comes in. When Haian goes from large to EXTRA LARGE they aren’t kidding. They skip at least one size that should be in between these two if not two sizes. They go from what I would normally consider a medium to an extra large and that size in between is just what I’m looking for for a looser fit when I double my diapers, my soaker pads and include a terry bath towel soaker. The Gary hi-back pants fit this arrangement nicely but I end up wearing them inside out so that the bump created from enclosing the elastic ends up on the inside and creates a physical barrier to liquid migration. To my knowledge Gary is the only company that I know that put this roll on the outside of their pants as I don’t have to wear the Haian’s, or any others inside out to achieve this result. Sorry, I’ve been stewing about this for a while and I turned your simple query and poll about plastic pants sizes into a rant about missing sizes and questionable elastic enclosure design. I’ll go lay by my dish now.?
  12. You’re right, if I’d known that I was going to live this long I would’ve taken better care of myself. The number of commercials for bladder leak underwear has given me some hope in the area of female acceptance. My ex-wife and I separated 8/91 and our divorce was finalized 4/93. That’s over a quarter century that I have been doing what ever I chose to do so I’m not sure how it would work out for me to be telling a woman what I want to do or her telling me what she wants to do. It may sound silly but Penny was the one that wanted the divorce as I believe in marriage for life. The primary pool of women that I would be dating is from church, or possibly Christian dating sites which adds to my concerns about my diapering being a problem for them. At the same time I realize that I’m attempting to analyze a woman’s feelings that I haven’t even met yet and that’s a difficult enough task with one that you’ve lived with for a dozen years.
  13. A diaper waddle is definitely induced. It’s interesting to see how when I powder my plastic pants beforehand putting them on they not only slip over my legs and the diaper(s) easier the diaper(s) also slip around in the pants when walking. If it’s warm enough that I begin to sweat in the crotch area and the plastic pants stick to my legs powder helps a lot there as well. As I’ve said I got in the habit of sleeping with a pillow between my knees years ago for a lower back problem and it’s nearly a requirement for sleeping on my side with this much padding between my legs. The assurance of not leaking while sleeping on my side is well worth any minor inconvenience this much cloth might present. Padded is better!
  14. It struck me recently that about 25 years ago when I first came across websites dealing with AB, DL and ABDL activity I was partially relieved to realize that I wasn’t alone but also somewhat repulsed to see that some people were actually using their diapers. At the time I was only into wearing plastic pants and diapers didn’t really excite me. After spinal surgery and a seizure I find myself incontinent and require diapers now. While this gives me “justification” for wearing plastic pants over my cloth diaper(s) it wasn’t that easy to accept. Thanks to a home healthcare worker that helped me understand “it ain’t no big thing” and helped me to make the necessary adjustments it no longer bothers me. My ex-wife recently passed away and some friends have been encouraging me to “get back out there” but I’m not quite sure what any woman is going to think about me wearing diapers. As I was pondering this I started to see that I really don’t care what many folks think about me or my being padded. I find this both freeing and sad. Freeing in there being very few people who’s opinion I care that much about and sad in that there are very few people who’s opinion I care that much about! It’s also quite interesting to see how radically my opinion has changed about using my diaper(s) and how in finding how much that I enjoy it. Stay padded.
  15. The hand held shower head is a necessity for cleanup of a pooped diaper in my opinion. It amazes me that in the mid 90’s when I found websites on the internet for ABDL’s that I was put off by those that used their diapers for the purpose for which they were designed. Becoming urine and bowel incontinent after a seizure changed combined with the help of my home healthcare worker. Now I can’t understand why I found using a diaper objectionable but wearing my coveted plastic pants presented me with no problem. Slowly diapers became just as important, if not more so, than plastic pants which was a fetish that I had since infancy. The internet surely has changed how this desire is dealt with by those of us that experience it. Thanks Al Gore!??
