  1. Hi Ginger Yes something similar, I was always aiming for dual IC and although I lost bladder control first bowel started to follow not long after. I was probably lucky in that I've always suffered with mild IBS and had relatively soft stools which probably made it easier. Interestingly over the last few years I've had none of the abdominal pain I used to get with my IBS.
  2. Hi PrincessPuddle. Firstly may I wish you the very best of luck with our goal. As someone who's made themselves dual IC, you really should think very seriously about your aims. However if you do wish to proceed then I would say it should be easier to achieve than aiming for IC. When aiming for genuine IC the skill to learn is relaxation and just letting go as soon as you feel any need to urinate until you reach the stage where you no longer receive the signal "I need to go". The advantage of reaching this stage is you rarely get accidents as there's an almost constant dribble into your diaper until you realise it's become quite heavy and then you change. With your plan you can at least force yourself to go when your bladder is nowhere near full. I don't see why (lifestyle permitting) you couldn't instantly start going every 15 - 20 minutes. Your bladder control will very rapidly decrease and its capacity gradually reduce. Obviously if you don't wish to wear diapers 24/7 you will get the occasional leak and you may find that wearing a diaper becomes a necessity (which you may not desire!). Also you will need mattress protection!! Hope this helps.
  3. You are definitely heading in the right direction. The constant small dribble with slightly increased flow when you get up or stretch are good and common signs. Are you hoping to become IC for messing as well? If so keep eating lots of high fibre food and it will become easier. The first signs for me were limited notice of a need to poo and then stress IC when I got up or stretched with a small amount being released and all farts releasing a small amount of poo. Hope this helps encourage you.
  4. I don't quite understand your post about waking up bursting and then trying to measure bladder capacity. I can't remember the last time I felt I needed to pee or experienced the feeling I was about to burst. My bladder simply releases an almost constant drip. The only time I get anything akin to a feeling of bursting is if I actually try to stop that drip. I occasionally do this with the front of my diaper open when I can stop the drip for a few seconds then as soon as I have to relax I will experience a small dribble before the drip every few seconds returns.
  5. That sounds perfect to me its the medical/disability element of incontinence that appeals to me, so a clinical environment sounds ideal especially with all the easy wipe down surfaces and that awful disinfectant type smell everywhere
  6. Hi Goerge Where do I start! I've always suffered with mild IBS with the occasional flare up, but was never caught out before in reaching a potty but there would be the odd day where I had to go 4 or 5 times at relatively short notice. Now that I'm incontinent in that area, I probably don't have any more days where my IBS flares up, typically one or two each month, but on those days I will have 4 or 5 BMs will literally no notice, they will just explode out filling my diaper and occasionally bursting over the top of my plastic pants. When this happens in public it is super embarrassing, thankfully that is very rare as I usually know on waking if its going to be one of those days. Airport security can also be a pain as can long train journeys when I have a BM. Even when I don't have an IBS day now I get almost zero notice, but thankfully it usually just oozes out. Also I get acute stress incontinence if I bend down too quickly or lift up any shopping etc to put in the car, I will have a small BM. I have also soiled the bed on more than one occasion ( a lot worse than leaking on it). The plus side is in terms of urine incontinence as I now feel I have zero control there is a continual drip that I am unaware of. It's often only when I get up after a long session at my desk or on the sofa watching tv that I become aware of how heavy my diaper is, so I very rarely leak in that department. I occasionally have a leakage at night if I've been too lazy to change before going to bed, usually after having a few drinks, but those occasions are rare. I personally have no regrets, it was my choice and I had various false starts before genuinely committing to 24/7 but it isn't all upside. I wish you the very best of luck if you do commit. I personally did not see the point in aiming for incontinence with pee and then pooing in a potty, but it isn't always easy.
  7. Hi Reddy I suggest you think long and hard before getting bowel incontinence surgery. After a long journey I believe I achieved genuine dual incontinence c3 years ago. Overall I don't regret it but there are times when BM incontinence is a real pain and embarrassing, so it isn't for everyone. Do take your time and I'm very happy to share some of the more awkward moments if it helps with your decision.
  8. Unless you're pretty sure that your family has actually guessed that you're gay, then coming out is never easy and its different for everybody especially coming out to a father. I knew I was gay from my early teens but hid it from everyone and I didn't fit the stereotype of how many gays were perceived by the straight community in the late 80s and early 90s so I don't believe anyone knew. I even had girlfriends and enjoyed my time with them but the relationships were all doomed as I knew I was living a lie and also wasn't great in bed with them. In my early 20s I had my first gay encounter and came out to my mother when I was 25, I think my younger sister had guessed by then. My father had died when I was a young child. Ultimately you have to live the life that makes you happy and not live purely to please others. My mother who has now passed never knew about my desire to wear diapers 24/7, it would be interesting to see if she took that as well as my being gay! My sister whilst thinking I'm crazy is fully behind my D/L lifestyle although she has told me if I ever become incapable I shouldn't expect her to change my smelly diapers which I can't say I blame her for. Anyway best wishes for whatever you decide to do.
  9. Thank you for commenting on this thread that I started a long long time ago, I do appreciate it. I have had fun with my partner (now husband) as an occasional wheelchair user, clearly for me it is just a kink I have no desire to be wheelchair bound, although an opportunity has arisen for us to "play this game" a little more regularly in future! With regard to incontinence, I have been dual IC for 5 + years now. This was entirely my choice and took time and effort. It was not some sudden decision and I experimented for various shorter periods as a diaper wearer before taking the plunge to go 24/7. I can agree it is very expensive but it makes me feel complete even though I have to admit that the uncontrolled fecal releases are not for everyone and do genuinely impact on aspects of my life. But it is a journey I chose to take and overall have no regrets. Thanks you yes, I am fully aware that I suffer from a BIID, even though it is hidden to most people (making myself dual IC) and occasionally being a wheelchair user is a more visible aspect of that BIID.
  10. Welcome back I hope you stick with it
  11. I'm fine with it when travelling alone. I do still find it embarrassing if I have to travel for work with someone who doesn't know about my "condition!"
  12. I played at it for years at weekends mostly and had a couple of longer periods 24/7 before purging through guilt etc after each but I finally overcame all those obstacles and have been 24/7 for 6 years.
  13. Hi Oznl Thanks for mentioning me. I'm still here but my partner (should now say my husband) had a few issues with elderly parents that took me away from the forum for a while. I did almost give up when I felt I wasn't able to support him at that time in the way he always supported me, but we stuck with it and I know there's no going back now.
  14. As someone who's practically 6 years into 24/7 with an original plan to gain total dual IC. I lost urinary control first but from 3+years on I have virtually no bowel control either. Similar to the comment above I have no warning of when a BM takes place I just suddenly became aware that it's oozing out and I know I can't stop it. It will usually happen when I get up from sitting and also any cough, sneeze, Iaugh or sudden stretch will set off a small BM as well as dribbling neither of which I could stop for even a second these days, I also regularly now wake up with a soiled as well as wet diaper.
