  1. I wear almost big boy training pants from baby-pants.com over my diapers in a size small enough to be snug. I have several sizes so that they fit over my bulky cloth diapers and the smaller ones for my pull up disposables for when I want wear in public without the bulk. A diaper cover is a must with cloth or in public.
  2. baby-pants.com I buy a size smaller for a snug yet comfortable fit, two thicknesses available, both can be worn under clothing with no noticeable bulge.
  3. I have found flat flannel baby diapers by Gerber are an inexpensive and versatile option to premade diaper doublers. I fold them into thirds to get an absorbent and comfortable doubler. When I want to really extend my time between changes I will double the flannel giving me 6 layers. An added benefit is when you wash them they wash and dry as a single layer. I often replace a wet flannel with a dry one if I am not quite ready to get cleaned up.
  4. I wear cloth most of the time and snug training pants to prevent the sagging. When wearing disposables I again pull on the training pants and my cover, keeps the diaper snug and gives added protection against leaks.
  5. I have found that if I lay on my back, knees up and spread the pee will flow to the back and wet it first. The feeling of warm pee trickling down my crack is most enjoyable to me. Directing the flow that direction helps. Sometimes I add a dry doubler in the front just so I can enjoy the wet on my bum longer.
  6. been a customer of ll medico and fan of Gary's products for nearly twenty years, the cloth pull up is the only item I was not completely satisfied with. Great capacity and comfy but It is just too hard to get clean.
  7. Deewet, My wife is around 24/7 with few exceptions. She knows I wear and use diapers but she does not like the smell of poopy adult diapers. Heck, I don't enjoy the smell, but I do like the squishy feeling so I enjoy while she is out and about. Life is all about compromise, not pooping my cloth diapers when she is around is a small price to pay for being able to be wet whenever I want.
  8. It does cost a lot of money to get started with cloth diapers. Ordering one of a style and size until you find THE one that suits you. Once you settle on one you start to save money and are set for life or until the company discontinues your favorite or goes out of business, I've experience with both. My favorite, by the dozen, cost 1/3 the price of most, but the company dropped the line and now I am starting over.
  9. In the past 50 or so years I have not had diaper rash, even after wearing wet cloth diapers for over 8 hours. Chafing is another story. disposables chaff bad when wet and the elastic in the legs compounds the problem. I have found anhydrous lanolin is a good barrier and lubricant to prevent or treat chafing. I buy it in the one pound jar, it lasts over a year, and costs less than other barrier ointments.
  10. Four Years ago while undergoing pre-op tests my doctor diagnosed me as type 2 diabetic, I had high blood pressure and nearly 100 pounds of excess fat. My surgeon refused to replace my knee until I lost 50 lbs. Seven weeks later I went in for my pre-op consult 60lbs lighter and blood sugar hovering around 110. Since then my blood pressure is around 115 without any medication, my A1-c is under 6 and I still need to lose another 40lbs. My doctor is jealous, she can't lose weight or get her blood sugar and blood pressure under control without medication. I did drastically change my diet. Cut out 90% of the refined sugars, found some greens that didn't turn my stomach, reduced my bread and fat intake and increased my vegetable consumption. My lunches consisted of salad and a can of sugar free fruit, dinners are vegetables, lean meat and salad. Snacks are nuts or fruit. I still eat ice cream, cake, chocolate, pie and pastries, and have a beer. The difference is that I have much smaller portions and rarely more than once a week. We eat fast food or in a diner about once a month, or while on vacation. Our food bill has been drastically reduced, by eliminating prepared foods, and eating in instead of out. We now spend the extra on pet food and feeding wildlife,
  11. Every day, as long as I want, usually mornings. My wife has known and accepted my love of diapers for over 35 years. Early on she set the ground rules. Don't walk around in just a diaper. Don't poop in a diaper if she is around. Clean up the mess and launder your own cloth diapers. I adhere to the rules and my wearing diapers has never been an issue. During the winter I wear cloth pull-ups 24/7 to help keep me warm during the day and use them for their intended purpose the next morning.
  12. Using urine soaked diapers in a compost pile, on the surface, sounds logical. First remove the inner and outer liners and put the beads and fluff in the pile and you have increased the water retention ability and nitrogen content of the compost. But one largely detrimental compound has also been added, SALT. If you want to increase the water retention of your garden soil my advice is buy the beads in bulk and work them into the soil and switch to cloth diapers to decrease the bulk in the landfills. My two cents worth.
  13. I rinse my cloth pull-ups and flannel diapers while in the shower cleaning up, then place them in a bucket until I get a load (usually 3-4 days). I wash them in hot water with detergent and push the extra rinse cycle, pop them in the dryer and they are ready to be folded. No funky smell ( my wife of over 35 years lets me know if there is any smell) nothing but clean soft diapers. I think that multi layered doublers are too dense to come clean in a single wash cycle, so I have switched to flannel baby diapers for doublers, folding them in thirds and using multiples for added capacity (they are less expensive than pre-made doublers and add versatility).
  14. I prefer flannel for my pull-ups and flannel diapers for my doublers. My latest dozen flannel diapers are turning a little grey after being washed at least twice a week for over a year, but they wash easier and dry quicker than multi-layered doublers. As for terry, it is personal preference, I do not like the feel of wet terry next to my bum.
  15. I use flannel baby diapers as doublers in my cloth pull-ups. This gives me countless options for bulk, capacity, and location of bulk. I enjoy the feeling of a wet diaper but prefer the wet close to the skin and not sagging half way to my knees. I use them like a belted pad using diaper pins instead of buttons. Flannel diapers wash easier and dry quicker than any cloth soaker pad and are less expensive than soaker pads.
