  1. >>>dude are you retarded there is no vaccination for chicken pox.... its why everyone gets them as a child..... and how can it be an orphanage when they are all biologically the parents? to be an orphanage they have to be orphans..<<<< There most certainly is, I was one of the first people to get it. It's been standard since the late 80s. http://www.vaccineinformation.org/varicel/qandavax.asp As for the orphanage, welcome to the world of lobbying and fundy politics. All you have to do is change the law so that it merely states "x number of children plus caretakers" and they qualify. That's why in the state of Pennsylvania sororeties were illegal until a few years ago, because more than 4 unrelated women living together was considered a brothel. >>>>course there was the episode where two of the kid went to southeast asia alone without any of the other family with loads of other kids their own age. or when they go to the home school conventions and the kids associate just FINE with other children...<<<< All from homogenous fundamentalist backgrounds. I'm talking real world children >>>but eitherway... every thing you just said proves my original point... the duggars and octomom are nothing alike! she had kids for some crazy pathological reason, and lives off state money to pay for their food, housing, medical... they have kids for their religious beliefs and don't depend on state money. <<<< So that's not a crazy pathological reason? Read the thing on the Quiverfull movement And what about their preemie? That was paid for entirely by a charity that receives state funding. And they do indeed get state assistance, they're just not on the welfare rolls and do it in roundabout ways. My point is that you're talking about characters you see on TV, not about the real people, who are not nice people in their actions, nor the people they associate with. They have carefully developed this persona as these nice folksy people who happen to have popped out a lot of kids. They're not.
  2. Technically true, but in reality not. The Duggars are very well connected to religious movements and the Arkansas state government, which is largely populated by fundies. Their house is tax exempt for being a "church", they gain further benefits because the laws were changed so they also qualify as an orphanage and receive benefits based on that. They also have a lot of silent benefactors (like the Phelps clan does) who pay very large speaking fees to them to hide their donations (just as the Phelpses are paid very large lawyering fees for minor work). Keep in mind what you see on TV is edited for television to appeal to a very specific demographic. They do not vaccinate their children because they believe it's subverting god's will (see chicken pox plauge episode), and they do not let them associate with the outside world. Notice how incredibly awkward they were when they visited a school with regular kids. They belong to the Quiverfull movement, which is centered around increasing white birthrates to push back against minorities to fight for Jesus. Check out the views of the people they have political yard signs for, you will find them universally extremist fundamentalists who absolutely would not approve of people like us http://www.thenation.com/article/arrows-war So before you call them sweet, just make sure you're acquainted with the real deal
  3. Standard symptoms of someone who's been through some variation on ex-gay therapy, that's why he's going off about people being pedophiles. It's obvious whoever is beating him decided that's what he was and followed that handbook The effectiveness of these techniques (in that they're not at all) and the psychological damage they cause (very real, almost always leads to either lapsing or sucide) is well documented
  4. There's a fetish weekend at Rainbow Mountain this weekend www.rainbowmountain.com
  5. The "scene" only applies to the bar scene There are plenty of people not in the bar scene who may be more accepting
  6. So you're saying that he insults himself on a regular basis? Do you think that he practices in the mirror? You know, out of all the people who are so concerned with "insulting the troops", it's amazing what lengths so many of them went to get out of it http://www.nhgazette.com/cgi-bin/NHGstore....%20Chickenhawks "So shut up! Stop popping my bubble world! When my kid grows up, I'm going to teach him to embrace ideology over reality just like I do!"
  7. Well, I wasnt' given a choice, I was out cold on an operating table, and honestly I think medically it was a good idea
  8. How about both of them? And a lot more It's not success that people hate. It's success while stepping on others, and general unethical and illegal behavior to achieve that success that people don't like. Wal-Mart has been instrumental in the destruction of the middle class in America. By demanding ever lower prices, forcing companies to go overseas or out of business to meet their demands, the manufacturing backbone of this country is gone. And once you kick the legs out from under that table, the effects of which we're just starting to feel, the whole system comes crashing down. Capitalism relies on everyone buying everyone else's goods and services, and when a signifigant percentage can no longer afford to do so, you've got major problems. Exxon along with the other oil companies, but especially Exxon have almost halved our refinery capacity since the gas crisis of the 70s. Why? So they're turning around product twice as fast. Unfortunately this is a vital resource for the operation of the nation, so when something happens to disrupt that (see Katrina) they have no buffer zone to compensate. In the meantime they've jacked prices as high as the market will bear, once again undermining the entire economy of the United States. They haven't done this gradually either. They went right from a buck=twenty to $2.50 and kept climbing. No economy can absorb sudden increases like that. Why did they do it? Because they knew that no one would stop them in the Bush Admin, or hold them to account. They had hearings where they didn't even place them under oath for god's sake, and the CEOs lied through their teeth and got away with it.
  9. He was worried about the urethra swelling shut, and it was a real concern trust me, I could feel it. Plus with the open wounds in the diaper area I don't think urine was the best thing for them. The guy seems to know what he's doing from what I can see. Yes he gave me antibiotics.
  10. Due to a massive groin infeciton, I had a catheter in for the last month. They took it out this afternoon (horribly painful and traumatic, it'd been causing me major spasms as well), and I've wet myself twice since i got home, both seemed more urge based. I have been having problems with bladder spasms, major ones and have been on an anti-spasmodic for it. Anyone have any experience? The urologist assured me that anything would be temporary and minor, and both wettings were while bladder muscles were under stress Needless to say I've gone to my stash and diapered up now, but I'm concerned. Can people with experience help assuay my fears?
  11. It's not "choices in underwear", it's what you also choose to do in them, as most of us do that freaks people out
  12. gas, there would still be the same dictators in place, and the vast majority of our gas comes from South America anyway. I think Saudi Arabia is like #7 Well, their selfishness is disgusting. We're all human, and we're all in this together Give me a break. So the Soviet Death Ray and the Red October Submarine were proven to be there because.... there was no evidence! And who was pushing this? Why it was Dicky, and Rummy! And who all signed the Project for a New American Century, which included offing Saddam as a big talking point? Why it's everyone currently running things! You need to watch it again. Really? And if they don't do what we tell them, how long do you think they're allowed to remain in power? Instead they show up for the appropriate Umm, no. You need to read international news sources. http://www.rawstory.com/news/2006/Afghanis...enter_0904.html http://www.rawstory.com/news/2006/Newsweek...ional_0925.html Not even close. In fact it looks like US taxpayers paid to train those Shiite death squads, and the police are completely controlled by the militias http://www.rawstory.com/news/2006/Infiltra...delay_1031.html http://www.rawstory.com/news/2006/Video_CB..._stay_1031.html So are the Saudis, so is Mugabe down in Zimbabwe, so are the guys who run the UAE, the list goes on and on. Why weren't they taken out, instead of a dictator who was already contained, and essentially neutered? And we did that. It doesn't matter if we withdraw now or in 3006, the same crap is going to happen. Whoever wins the elections, we'll be out of there in less than 2 years, guaranteed, ready or not. And who should be held responsible for not learning from Vietnam, and causing those needless sacrifices? Every single person who voted for or otherwise backed the illegal war. Cuff them up and send them to trial.
  13. Nope. But by removing Saddam Hussein, we removed a control rod that was keeping sectarian violence in check. The Iraqis had it far better under him than the mess they're in now. Don't forget, we murdered over 100,000 civillians in our initial bombings, and up to 600,000 have since died. That's over double Saddam's total body count. Ummm, no. UN and US inspectors told Bush they didn't, but he was dead set on his vendetta, his delusions of grandeur, and his buddy's greed for the oil. Attacking IRaq was a violation of international law, the UN must sanction all such actions. By doing so Bush violated Article 6 section 2 of the Constitution requiring all treaties be treated as the law of the land. No, they want us to convert. Christians and Jews are required to kill unbelievers too, and if you're not doing it, you're not obeying your god. And yes, Jesus approves (I have not come to undo the old laws but to fufill them). Just because Christians tend to whitewash those bad parts doesn't make them any less valid. If we'd just stop supporting illegal Israeli occupations and oppression of Palestine, supporting dictators like the Saudis, and in general screwing with the region's politics we'd have a lot less problems. Our major meddling has made us an easy target and scapegoat. The other Arabs see Arabs being killed and oppressed with the US backing it, and it naturally pisses them off. Go watch a film, google it, called "The Power of Nightmares". Osama and the NeoCons are the same people, using the same tactics of manipulation to achieve the same kinds of power goals. Do you know what fascism is? Obviously not. Facism is the total merging of business interests and government. Aka what the GOP has been trying to do for years. Look at Life magazine from the 30s, it was the fathers and grandfathers of today's GOP stars that were so admiring Hitler, and then there's people like Karl Rove whose grandfather helped design Bergen Belsen. Typical Republican technique is to accuse others of the crimes they themselves commit. You're delusional. You can't spread democracy at the point of a gun, or by installing puppet governments with little to no actual power over the people. The Taliban are back in force, and Karzai's government controls about 10 square blocks. It's getting to be the same way in Bagdhad. There were no "lines in the sand". No country attacked us, Iraq did not attack us, and they were following the guidelines set forth by the UN. It's documented that by noon on 9/11 RUmmy and the gang were already looking for a way to pin it all on Saddam, and that they lied, used known liars and partisan hacks like Curveballand the Iraqi National Congress to gather cherry picked intel. How many former intelligence agents need to testify how they were yelled and screamed at to go back and get the "right" intel? Yes, because the people who have been proven time and again to be liars and criminals are the ones to trust. Stop watching Fox News
  14. Now let's be fair, it was his CAMPAIGN MANAGER that counted the votes (both in 00 and 04) in the states in question, and both times there were massive, 90% wrong purges of the voter roles, mysterious shortages of machines in Democratic districts, and in the case of Ohio, blantant, and de facto voter fraud on behalf of the secretary of state (also Bush-Cheney 04 campaign manager for Ohio, now for some reason being allowed to count his own votes for governor) That isn't tin-foil hat stuff, that's raw, easily verifiable fact.
