Welcome, and I am happy to see you have decided to post! I also was a very long lurker before posting as well, and it is likely many others have had a similar nervousness. So, that is likely another commonality you have.

I am on the fence about hypnotism. I used to be completely against the idea that it could really work, but after some reading and experience, I acknowledge that it can happen in some cases. I do think that there are many caveats to that statement though, but I am not a total nonbeliever anymore.

Hello! Like you I am also new and also still not quite sure what I am looking for or what I want. So, I can understand if you have any feelings of intimidation, since I am at times! But rather than lurking, might I suggest speaking to some of the people already involved? That might help you decide what it is you do want, as they can offer insight into what works and does not for them, and it might be applicable to yourself, or provide thoughts you might not have otherwise had. I have been a member for slightly less than two weeks now and have had the opportunity to speak with some wonderful people in the chat room, but I thought I should perhaps say hello to everyone in the community at large. Unlike many of the people I have spoken with, I seem to have come to this quite late comparatively. It has not been something that I have always thought about, but something that was introduced to me by a writing partner who suggested it as a story. I had to ask her for an explanation, but when she did, I was completely entranced by the thought, and have been seeking out and learning more. However, it has all been online, and it is not something I practice in real life just yet, nor do I expect to do so soon.
