  1. It makes you wonder doesnt it maybe this whole society thing with getting children out of nappies (diapers) stop using pacifiers sleeping in a big bed and being a big kid who doesnt need babying by the age of three is it really in the best intrest of the kids. why is potty training so urgent and compulsory, the simple answer is just so you can get them into the local kindergarten (99% of which these days have a no nappy policy). i really think society needs to look at itself more closely and not expect too much from very young children i dont see what harm it would be for a 4 yr old to still be in nappies if that child benifits from slightly prolonged intense parenting. i've know mothers to become obsessive about potty training because their friends had little johnny trained by 18 months etc etc. we should let little kids be little kids as long as they feel the need to be and stop trying to make little adults too soon
  2. in my experience its not a rude or nasty comment but here in the UK everyone refers to adult diapers (nappies as we call them ) as pads as if that in some way makes having to wear them easier. and always do that that thing where when they get to the word pad in a sentence they whisper it and then go back to talking at normal volume i sorry but i have to laugh everytime that happens. last clinic appointment i had enough and when the nurse called them pads i took a spare one out of my bag handed it to her and said 'can you just point out any part of this that doesnt look like a nappy'. of course she couldnt but insisted it was policy to call them pads to which i replied well you dont call bandages wound dressing containment devices do you to which she replied ummm...... and then went silent. chalk one up to the NAPPY wearer!!!!
  3. just a thought but why dont you look into starting your own contractor firm be the boss while still doing what you love and that way you can ease off the physical stuff (i know its easy to suggest that but think about it and research it you never know)
  4. i have to be brutally honest here im not buying this for one second. first off the self harm to make himself incontinent and then the 'im dying' statements when the feedback is all negative. then the anger when people wont help, if i were dying i certainly wouldnt be wasting my time trying to make myself incontinent i mean whats the point and if he's dying anyway of a terrible lung disorder the chances are he'd become bedridden eventually and get his wish. sorry but something smells bad here and its not my diaper
  5. since becoming incontinent my dad has never given up a chance to make a joke about it which im fine with because he's always careful to do it when no-one who doesnt know is about. but since last autumn the jokes have somewhat dissappeared......why i hear you ask. well he had prostrate problems last year and during a rather severe UTI had to go see the doctor but was being caught short alot of the time so he had no choice but to come round to my house and borrow some yes you guessed it borrow some diapers. (it was like a gift from heaven) after he was treated and given the all clear from cancer and other nasty stuff it was my turn to make the jokes after that i think the novelty wore off for him as his jokes seemed to fade rather quickly. although he still likes to mention occasionally at least he only had to wear them for a couple of days LOL
  6. to be honest with you i think the AB world and its members (especially the more exhibitionist among them) have to take some responsibillity for the stigma. im not going to rant about it but for alot of people have only realised or noticed thats adult diapers exsist after seeing some clown on the jerry springer show or such on national tv dressed in his best babywear. of course this is not 100% of the problem but i think it plays a big part in it because if you come out and tell someone your incontinent they will automatically presume it fetish related not medical after all if you used a catherter you wouldnt get the same bad reaction would you i know this from personal experience... think about it. but i have to agree the other big part of the problem is society and its you have to be out of diapers by the age of three and you cant go back into them till age 70 plus when your brains gones
  7. i have to say i have never experienced this problem with a hospital not having diapers on every ward but i must agree hospital diapers usually are low quality. i get diapers free on the national health service and this is where i have found a problem in the 'you get what you pay for' or in this case dont pay for stakes they are cheap and nasty and to top it off they count how many you get they will only supply enough for 3 during the day and one at night (total 4 a day) the main problem with this is you cant buy adult diapers over the counter here because if have a genuine problem the NHS supplies you so running out can be a major headache and you cant get any emergency supplies if you run out you have to wait until your next due a delivery (normally every two months) and if that wasnt bad enough should you happen to have any extras left over your supposed to ring them up a week before and have that number taken out of your order. (funnily enough i have never done that.......im incontinent not stupid LOL). i got sick of the nightly leaks so i have switched to cloth nappies at night which work well makes me wonder why they dont supply cloth it would save them money in the long run

  11. well is 34 and suffer unrinary incontinence, following a bad accident. i have been told that the problem is not nessecarily permanent if i chose to have surgery on my spine...........downside if the surgery doesnt work i may never walk again......no brainer eh!. as for lovemaking im single so i dont have that problem but in general i think the men will agree that when the men at work sign is up incontinence isnt a problem as everyone knows men dont multi task so little willy has more on his mind then peeing, its after it starts to get tricky just have to make sure you have a diaper handy for afterwards LOL
