  1. Gianna looked back at Roxie, greeting her innocent gaze with a warm smile. So much of what was happening was unexpected and unplanned, but all welcome. Throughout all of this, she felt like her instinct and desire to be a mother was being fulfilled, and in this moment, it seemed sealed up completely that she was one. She watched her baby suckle on her nipple gently, and mused that it all felt right right now. What else did she need?
  2. Gianna was surprised to see Roxie start mouthing and then suckling her nipple through her shirt, but it was a pleasant surprise. It was a light and sort of timid gesture, Gianna could tell it was almost reflexive. She also didn’t want to ruin the moment by pushing the baby away, despite the impediment of her shirt. Gently she did her best to expose her other breast for Roxanne without disturbing the intimacy.
  3. Gianna could see worry disappear from the adult baby almost instantly upon hearing the praise, like it was a literal visible knot in her little girls stomach. And she felt another product of that relaxation in her lap, sudden warmth right where Roxies diaper sat. She may not be ready to admit to herself she liked being in diapers yet, but Gianna could tell the baby was getting there. She decided not to draw attention to it by just cradling Roxies head against her breast. She wasn’t at all sure if Roxanne would let herself sink that far into infantile behavior, but her head was awfully close to a breast feeding position...
  4. “Nothing. Well, nothing bad anyhow. She got released early and that was that, pretty much.” Gianna felt more comfortable now talking about her time incarcerated, even if she didn’t want to say the words. “We both knew it wasn’t made to last.” It was that simple in truth; maybe had the circumstances been different she could have been a little for Gianna on the outside...if they’d met on the outside. But for those days locked up, it was all about that comfort and companionship. She looked down at the nervous adult baby in her arms. “She wouldn’t have wanted to be in diapers for Mama anyhow,” she whispered in Roxies ear with a big grin. “Not like my good little Roxie...”
  5. “I...” Gianna had never thought of herself as being like Mama, or even wanting to be. She had no interest in the less savory or legal aspects of course, she was making her way successfully without being crooked. But this part, the “Mama” part, Gianna wanted this more than anything. “I want to be the best Mama I can.” She patted and rubbed Roxies bottom with a smile. “Now that I’ve got a little one again.”
  6. “I always knew Mama like that. I mean, you don’t ever really get to know the big boss right away, but even then Mama always wanted us to know she was there. And it was nice to have that. And yeah, it rubbed off on me.” Gianna sighed happily. “I guess Mama figured if you took care of people they’d take care of you.”
  7. “Yeah, Mama can be too much sometimes, I think,” Gianna said, holding her baby while she gently rocked in the chair. “I guess that’s what drew me to her in the first place,” she said, feeling like she could let her guard down now with Roxanne. “Nothing was ever too good or too much for her girls to have.” She looked down at her little one, feeling like she wanted to do the same for her little Roxie, and she could see that deep down, beyond the confusion and disorientation, Roxanne did not just want the affection and security, she needed it. At least to Gianna’s reading. “I think it feels like home to me, though.”
  8. Gianna nodded and picked her little girl up out of the high chair, carrying Roxanne securely with one arm around the baby’s back and one arm underneath her diaper. It was just so routine now, carrying the adult woman around, feeling the soggy diaper pressed against her. It wasn’t unexpected or unwanted; Roxie was her baby now, and that was that. The furniture was familiar to both that they saw in the side room, but it had that small bit of difference that now it was theirs. She sat in the rocking chair with Roxie on her lap, just looking at everything in the room. A stocked changing table, a comfy looking crib, a little bookshelf with baby books, a toy chest, it was all there for her and Roxie. She started gently rocking and patting Roxannes diaper, awash in good feelings. “What do you think, Roxie sweetheart?”
  9. Gianna proudly continued feeding her babygirl the breakfast, quite happy that the adult baby before her had embraced the wholesale change to her life that’s come to her. She wasn’t sure there wouldn’t be push back eventually and she was prepared for that, but for now there was nothing but a proud happy Mama Gianna showing. Slowly but surely she’d finished the entire bowl, and started wiping Roxannes chin off with a napkin, despite the fact that it was entirely clean. It was more the ritual that mattered, treating Roxie like a messy little baby even though she really wasn’t. “Good girl, you made all gone! What a good baby you are!” Gianna smiled and tousled Roxannes hair, putting the baby’s pacifier back in her mouth. “You wanna go see your new room sweetheart?”
  10. Gianna beamed with pride that Roxanne took her first bite with no fuss and no mess. While she understood babies, even the adult kind, to be messy creatures and she had no qualms cleaning up after them, she much preferred meal time to be a neat and tidy affair. She didn’t quite know how Roxie would be as her adult baby, apart from what she could guess from her apartment, but at current Roxie was so eager to please Gianna could direct the behavior she wanted from the ground up. “Good girl!” She said, smiling as she dug for another spoonful of oatmeal followed by the applesauce.
  11. Gianna was still a little surprised Roxie embraced babyhood this quickly. It was among the reasons why it was so easy to respond to Roxanne saying “love you”, though. She felt quite pleased with how it was turning out. She took out the bowls to let them cool, then brought them to the tray, small pastel spoons in each one. “Oatmeal and applesauce, yummy huh!” She wasn’t sure whether Roxie would really like the meal, she didn’t much seem the breakfast type from the discarded cartons in her apartment. But babies had to eat right...and eat what their mama feeds them. “Show Mama your open!” she said, stirring up a spoonful of the cereal and holding it up towards her mouth.
  12. Gianna was equally surprised at Roxanne saying “love you” to her, not that it was unwelcome or anything, just surprising to hear. To her it symbolized at that moment a true acceptance of what her adult baby had become, she was ok with being treated like a diapered toddler. She looked at her baby in the high chair smiled, and patted her head gently. “Love you babygirl.”
  13. Gianna put Roxanne in the high chair and locked in the tray to secure her little girl. She booped Roxies nose and handed her the ferret and another stuffy, this one a little dolphin, to play with while she warmed up some cereal. She really didn’t know how Mama did it on such short notice but there was already baby cereal and mushed fruits and veggies, which had to have been made from scratch because Mama Miglietti would never buy from a can or a jar. As she warmed up cereal and applesauce, she came over to Roxanne with a bib that simply read “Mamas angel”, and showed it to Roxie before she tied it on her. “Hehe, that’s you babygirl!”
  14. Gianna happily nuzzled Roxanne closer to her, rubbing her baby’s diapered bottom proudly and possessively. She did this as she lifted the baby up and started walking to the kitchen and Roxanne’s high chair, and she noticed the baby clinging just as tightly to her all the while. Whatever qualms still existed in this woman’s mind, Gianna thought, about being treated like a diapered baby were being held inside. Diapers, bottles, high chairs, cribs, she figured nothing would faze Roxie as long as it was Mama Gianna doing it to her. “Ready for some food, my darling?” she said, standing in front of the high chair and ready to place her baby’s padded bottom in the wooden seat.
  15. Gianna smiled and gave little Roxie a warmer kiss on the cheek upon her baby’s admission. She could honestly say given how things were going between then that she was feeling rather complete with just her and Roxanne. And it probably wouldn’t be right to pursue anyone either, she mused. Her last babygirl before this may have come of convenience in dire circumstances, and she wouldn’t have dared ruin that relationship in the same way. “That’s right sweetheart, you belong to Mommy and Mommy belongs to you.”
  16. “I don’t know, Roxie. I haven’t really wanted to, not for a while now,” she said, calmly patting Roxannes diaper as she felt the girl shyly cuddle closer into her. “But now that I’m a Mama again, I dunno, kinda feels like I can put that on pause. I don’t have a feeling I’ll be missing out on cuddling someone for a while, am I right?” she said with a bright smile and a peck on Roxies cheek.
  17. Gianna nodded and pulled Roxie gently up into her arms, setting her with a loud crinkle in her lap, and feeling Roxannes diaper quite warm and wet in her lap. She just held her little girl in her arms as she’d requested though, ignoring the squishy padding for now. More than anything, Gianna knew that Roxie needed to know she’d always have a safe place in her arms and was always open for a cuddle. She let Roxie rest her head on her shoulder, and whispered into her ear. “Good girl.”
  18. Gianna was secretly happy at that sight, even as she was outwardly moved to offer her little one comfort. “It’s ok my bambina! You were building everything so nicely, Mama was watching the whole time and saw it all.” She reached down to rub and pat Roxannes diapered rear to calm the adult baby. She had to seem proud, she didn’t really want Roxie to cry. But still...it warmed her heart to see the cop show a sensitive side and react just like a baby.
  19. Gianna watched from the corner of eye as she read, seeing her baby play with her blocks. She was quite happy to see little Roxie do so unbidden, no prompting for what she should be doing from her Mama, just being a happy playful little girl. She sat and just watched her with a big smile after a while, sure the laser focus she had for building was keeping Roxanne from knowing Mama was watching over her so intently. But she didn’t want the baby to know she was watching either. She wanted it to be genuine that Roxie was enjoying herself being a baby.
  20. Gianna beamed a smile towards Roxie, she didn’t really need to elaborate that Roxanne was going to be with her from now on. “Well, then have some fun with your new toys first, babygirl. Try them out, see what you like, and just have fun. Mama is going to be right here looking at some of her files, and all you need to do is this to get Mamas attention.” She took Roxannes hand and used it to grip the jeans where they hung loosely around the ankle, and gave it a little tug. “That way Mama knows baby needs something...”.
  21. “What can I say, Mama Miglietti knows how to get a job done quickly,” Gianna said. “It helps that my condo isn’t a sixth-floor walk up I guess.” She put Roxanne down in the playpen and took off her baby’s shoes, necessary in the pigsty of her apartment but not here in Mamas condo. She then tossed Roxie her ferret from the couch. “You hungry yet my little Roxie, or do you wanna try out your playpen first?”
  22. Gianna finished the drive home and took Roxie from the car, carrying her now that they were safe from public view. She loved how Roxie was snuggling up to the ratty stinky blanket, she noticed that the baby had gone right for it. When she had the girl inside, right away she could see how well and how quickly Mama Miglietti had done her job of moving the nursery items in. The playpen was right in the middle of the living room and stocked with toys; a sturdy high chair sat in the kitchen. “Wow would you look at that, my little princess? Mama took care of us, huh?” She eyed the blankie Roxanne was cuddling, knowing she’d have to figure out a plan of how to get it away from her long enough to wash it.
  23. “Of course, my little bambina,” Gianna said, leaning over to plant a little kiss on Roxannes forehead before guiding her to the car. She tossed the trash bags in a nearby dumpster, and helped her baby into the car seat. She got one look at the baby blanket up close as she helped Roxanne, and she knew she’d need to wash it as soon as possible. She smiled at her little girl in the car seat, tickled her under her chin before putting her pacifier in her mouth and started the drive home. Seeing the little angel in her rear view, she couldn’t help but smile the whole ride home. She would do anything for her Roxie now, a woman she once hated.
  24. Gianna didn’t really want to know more than that, and she was not about to pry. “Mama has a fireplace back home.” She gathered the couple of trash bags in one hand, and reached out for Roxies hand with the other. “Come on, sweetheart, Mama Miglietti is probably done moving your nursery in by now. Let’s get you back home,” she said with a warm smile, consumed by the wonderful thought. It was finally going to feel like home with a baby around...
  25. Gianna, normally rather fastidious and organized, a trait that helped her keep sane in the joint but was part of her personality long before, was struggling to keep silent, especially when she heard the crunch of either already broken glass or glass that had yet to be broken until that moment. She took a deep breath to calm herself and grabbed a takeout bag. “If being Mama means anything to me, and it does, I have to help my little princess no matter what.” She started tidying up the worst of the worst near her, the things that might start to really stink if left alone, until Roxanne was ready to go. “That’s a very cute blankie, babygirl. Is that from when you were a littler bambina?”
