  1. At risk of stating what should be abundantly obvious from the posts above, waiting until after marriage to discuss diapers is irresponsible and (to put it mildly!) inconsiderate to your partner. The only respectful thing to do these situations of spousal disapproval is to be open about the fact that an affinity for diapers is not something that goes away ... nor is it something which one chooses. It is a part of oneself from very early on. If being married to a person with an affinity for diapers is not something that your spouse can accept, they will need to make arrangements for a divorce-- because they are in fact married to such a person, and a divorce is the only thing which can change that.
  2. I was job searching on Craigslist today when this caught my eye. http://newyork.craigslist.org/mnh/tfr/2602037245.html Casting Call: Are you a member of the Adult Baby Community? 3. It's a joke. I thought the photoshopped pic was silly enough that it would go without saying.
  4. The Folsom Street fair is a major event. It's not front page news, but it does end up in the papers. The other sites I linked as examples of what anyone who investigates BDSM will find in a cursory Google search. One thing that is especially good about that last link (the statement of purpose) is that not only do they encourage responsible practices in the community, but they are totally non-profit. Any excess money they make from events goes to AIDS research and battered women's shelters. Folsom does the same kind of thing. I'm just pointing out that good PR is not impossible.
  5. Actually, the BDSM community is very good about PR, as well as going out of their way to foster safe, sane and consensual practices within the community. 6. I've reposted an excerpt from this brave young woman's interview here.
  7. I remember as a kid paying such close attention whenever there was a diaper commercial. I am sure this one is making a big impression on young DLs as we speak ... and by the way, how old are those judges supposed to be? They're in diapers too. If I had seen this commercial in elementary school, I would have read those kids as being at least as old as me.
  8. It's always good to have more diapered bloggers out there. I already left you a comment on that latest post (which is quite good by the way) but I wanted to say here that you're doing a great service to the diaper community by creating original content for people to read, especially when it's as personal as yours is.
  9. The recurring nature of this discussion got me going through old threads looking for the other conversations on this topic. I thought I would repost them here for everybody's reference. 10. Me too, but my accidents didn't slow down until about grade 8. I still have accidents sometimes, but they are much fewer and far between. Back when I was in middle school and still having more daytime accidents than most pre-schoolers, I really longed for diapers. I hid it though and never had the guts to ask for Pull-Ups. I wish I had ... would have saved a lot of stress and trouble.
  11. This is a discussion which seems to crop up over and over. I wrote a blog post on the topic last year. One guy who commented was a BDSMer who had never considered diapers before, but after reading my blog found himself "suddenly thinking that diapers sound like a good idea." One of the few people I am fully "out" to with regards to diapers is a girl I know who used to work as a pro dom. She was very receptive, even curious about my diapered desires. Reaching out and finding some common ground with the BDSM crowd seems more and more like a good direction for the community to head in. It would definitely be a positive step toward building a more social diaper scene, both on and off the web.
  12. Yeah, Japan is way more open minded about diapers. The broader term they use for any fetish play which involves wetting yourself, in or out of diapers, is "omorashi."
  13. No kidding, Sophie. Seriously guys, what is with this impulse to shout down anyone who invests their time and money to create original content for the community? Kudos to you, Darlene. Any effort to bring quality diaper content to the web has my support 100%. On that note, I can't seem to find your actual site. The first thing you do in developing your site should probably be to make it more obvious how to get past this collection of links.
  14. Totally agree with you there, Pink. I think that in a community with so many different niche audiences, a lot of people probably feel this way. Assuming that a story has been written competently, the main points of division seem to be over how old the character is, whether there is ageplay involved, whether the diapered character(s) experience incontinence or not, and (perhaps most of all) whether there is sex or not. There are also a lot of people out there who identify with fetish communities which are not necessarily related to the diaper world, i.e., furries, crossdressers, BDSMers, etcetera. It is always a nice bonus to find that an author shares not only the same sensibilities about diapers as you, but also whatever other fetish you might be into. Conversely, people who don't like sex or sexuality in their stories would probably close the window as soon a fetish subject crops up. I personally am not into ageplay outside of the most subtle suggestions. Pigtails and juvenile behavior on a girl who is otherwise all grown up can be very attractive, but baby talk and improbable nursery set ups turn me right off. Incontinence and accidental wetting from someone old enough to know better are usually the most interesting scenarios for me, but I have thoroughly enjoyed many stories where the character is introduced as a non-incontinent DL right off the bat. As long as the scenario being described is at least reasonably plausible, my preference toward one or the other isn't that strong. Sex and sexuality are fine with me, but also not totally necessary. I think that a certain amount of implied sexual tension can make a story more interesting though.
