Was masked man wearing a diaper?

Des Moines police detectives are looking for a bandit who may have worn a diaper on his face during a recent hold-up.

A description given for a suspect in a robbery of the Elite Fuel Co., 821 E. Euclid Ave., Saturday night said the gunman had "a white bandana/diaper covering face." He also wore sunglasses, a light blue zip-up hoodie with a white stripe on the shoulder and sleeves.

Police said the robber wore surgical gloves and displayed a handgun. He left the business with less than $200 in cash.

A small car with a loud muffler was seen leaving the area shortly after the hold-up. Store cameras will be reviewed to see if they offer investigators any tips to the man's identity.
