StayDry Panty
"Protects your child and you
against them" |
First off, what a slogan! None of today's "self-esteem
boosting" dance-around-the-issue language here. These
kids are ruining your stuff! Slap a "panty" on them. No
unisex briefs, no underpants, garments or pull-ups. It's
a panty! I'm surprised they didn't just call it a
diaper.
That being said, what a product! I was fortunate enough to
get a hold of one of the last pairs made by Jolan - that
was sitting in a warehouse for over twenty-five years.
Perfectly stored, it still has a fresh sweet scent of
new fabric. The panty is essentially an all-in-one
diaper comprised of a soft and silent, milky-white
plastic, with an incredibly soft flannel lining.
Stitched to the center is a flannel sheet, at least
three feet wide, folded to make an eight-layer
super-soaker pad running down the center. The panty is
applied by tying three sets of strings on each side for
a snug, comfortable fit. This last part I am assuming as
the panty I have is a 36" and will not fit me. This
product - in my opinion is vastly superior to any
disposable or washable garment made today.

To the left we have an
original 1940's StayDry ad from Parent's Magazine I
found on eBay. I scanned it at 300dpi to save a mint
original of the advertisement.
