Dear Daily Diapers Letter with Answer

Dear Daily:

I am 23 and wear diapers. Whenever I try to poop in them its hard. I strain
and strain but not much comes out. Should I try laxatives, what will help me
use them to their extent?
MK

Dear MK:

I don't recommend casual laxative use as it can lead to dependence on them. My advice is instead to try a stool softener, which doesn't make you have to go, but makes it easier for you to go. If the problem is mental, try sitting on the toilet in a diaper and go.

My suggestion, besides a stool softener? To try cereals? Such as bran flakes, "All Bran" ,
Raison Bran, ect..  Most any grain cereal (I THINK all cereals are made of grain?).  I have HAD to use stool softeners myself, and found that cereals can be and are a lot more effective. As the softener was too slow for me. I had to because of the famous hemorrhoid problems so many face.

Just thought I'd point out that in the updated information for the "how to poop my diapers" letter, that while a high fiber breakfast cereal like All Bran is a good idea (and healthy for you), it's important to note that you MUST drink lots of water in addition to the cereal or the bran will work the opposite way from what's intended.

Pipsqueak

I totally agree that one MUST (needs to) drink plenty of water along with high fiber foods  of any source. I started to come back to add that fact but chose not,  in order that others such as yourself, Pipsqueak, could have an opportunity.

A person if able, SHOULD drink plenty of water at all times, if and when possible. A lot of beneficial, healthy foods can work the same as high fiber does by removing what moisture is in the body already, because they are not consumed with enough water or juices to allow for the proper digestion. Therefore causing dehydration by using and removing moisture due to the lack of taking in as much as needed. Many foods are labeled "I cannot eat" because of this dehydration, simply from neglecting to take in enough each day, in many cases.

I am talking in the "normal health range" not talking of people with special needs, which require more steps and precautions, since their body does not work the same as it used to. Or maybe,  just never did work the way it was meant to.
