Dear Daily:
I am a 21 year old male, and ever since I
found out about this fetish, I have had it lingering in the back
of my mind. I don't wear diapers, but I keep fantasizing
about them often. Is this fetish taking over my life?
And if so, should I start indulging in my fantasies, or should I
seek professional help? If I start wearing diapers
sometimes, I am not sure how I could tell anyone, as I still
live with my parents.

Dear Colby:
It doesn't
sound like the fetish is taking over your life.... it's just demanding
some attention. I would recommend buying a pack of diapers and trying it
out... it may not even be that great for you when you really do it.
Sometimes the idea is better than the reality.
This is my advice even if you don't really want to be a
diaper wearer. You should be sure the fantasy is real before you put
yourself through the embarrassment of telling a therapist about it.
Living with your parents does hinder your ability
to be who you are, but discovering who you REALLY are is one of the most
important things we will all do in our lives, so don't run from it for too
long. If you can't wear diapers right now, try and work on the
"WHY" aspect of the desire. What is it about diapers you think
you like? Why might you feel that way. Sometimes - in all honesty - there
is no answer... but sometimes people learn a good deal about themselves
when they take the time to ask.
