Dear Daily:
Why does society see us ab/dl people as sick
people? it has boggled me for quite some time now. I am an ab
and love it. like my dad thinks I am a sick person and I need
help. why is this?

Dear David:
First off, the
majority of "society" doesn't see as as sick... they just don't
see us. As to why some people - your dad included - see wearing diapers as
a sick perversion... well that's harder to explain. For the most part, the
old saying is true: People fear what they don't understand.
As children we are taught to see diapers as a
dirty thing only babies need... something to be grown out of as quickly as
possible. Then, we're not supposed to be in diapers again until we're old
and frail. That part could be the problem.... So many adults are fearing
the day when they will need diapers that they think we must be sick to not
be afraid of them.
There is, of course, the small percentage
of ignorant people who think dressing like a baby must mean we want to
have sex with babies... the people who think that way are the sick ones.
Imagine living your life being unable to accept that you were once a
child, and were once innocent, and that even as an adult one might want to
pretend to be that innocent again.
And finally, my most important thought on people
and fetishes: EVERYONE has a fetish... and everyone thinks everyone else's
fetish is weird. Just be yourself, and let your dad worry about
himself. Weather wearing diapers is a fetish, a lifestyle, or just
an underwear choice; it's your choice to make and your life to live.
