Dear Daily:
I'm a 39 year old DL with a couple of questions.
I'm running in to a bit of a problem when I diaper at night. I'm a heavy wetter and will wet sometimes two or three times a night. The problem is that after a couple of wettings my diaper is soaked. I've used different overnight brands of disposables with heavy weight plastic pants. Most of the time I'll double up on the disposables; but as you know; it can get a bit messy trying to change a disposable that has had slots cut in it to allow the wetness to flow in to the outer diaper. I was thinking of trying some kind of a booster pad rather than doubling up on the diapers.
Don't get me wrong; I love the idea of wetting a lot at night and wearing a thick bulky diaper. It would be great just being able to go through the night wit out having to change. Do you have any suggestions?
Also; Wood you have any ideas on how I could wet more easily while in bed. I don't wear diapers every night; but when I do; it would be great just being able to lie where I'm at and let it go. Even when I wake up and really have to go; I have to get out of bed and then I'll be able to pee. I have memories of being diapered and put to bed at three years old and being able to pee with little effort. I realize at that age my bladder was not developed like it is now. I love that warm wet feeling against my skin. Perhaps you or others on this site might have some ideas
on how I might be able to wet more easily while in bed.
By the way; keep up the great work on the site! It's nice to have a site where you don't have to pay for and jump through a lot of hoops just to make some new friends.
Thanks,
Jim
Dear Jim:
Thanks for the
kind words, and your questions! I, too, am a heavy wetter and also
incontinent, so it takes a good diaper to allow me to sleep through the
night. I highly recommend Abri-Form X-Plus diapers with a depend boost pad
inside and plastic pants outside. That combination is the only one that
lets me sleep dry and uninterrupted! Two of our sponsors carry them, which
is a great way to get what you need and support this site:
Wetting easily
actually has less to do with development and more to do with mental
training. You have been raised to see bladder control as a requirement and
wetting as an "accident" or something to be ashamed of. In
truth, there is no easy fix for this other than to get used to and become
more comfortable with the idea of wetting yourself. Over time, if you keep
telling yourself it's okay to wet a diaper (that's what they are for) your
brain will stop fighting you on it. You might also find that listening to
some of the hypnosis tapes may help you. Though it takes a while for them
to make you a bedwetter (and that may not even be what you want) listening
occasionally to a reassuring voice telling you it's okay and normal to wet
yourself may help!
