Dear Daily Diapers Letter with Answer |
|
Dear Daily:
I'm fond of showing off the fact that I'm wearing
diapers as often as the opportunity allows. I do wish to be
discreet when going to work and often need to be when in public. I
find that it is very awkward to change diapers in public restrooms.
Not much can be done about the crinkling sounds of the disposables.
It is very cramped in the cubicles however.
Then most cubicles I've been in don't have coat hooks
on which to hang your jacket. The worst though is having to exit
the cubicle with the rolled up soiled diaper in your hand!
I really wish that adult diaper wearing was more
common and that restrooms had a few cubicles with changing tables in
them so that you change your diaper while lying down.
Cubicles should in any case have diaper
bins in them. As far as I'm concerned, adult diaper users are
being discriminated against. Marc
Dear Marc, Adult-sized changing tables will probably never become a mainstream feature. That would simply require too much space and most buildings save precious little floor-plan area for bathrooms. When changing my diaper I always use the handicapped stall of the rest room, which is larger and often has a sink to wash up in. My main gripe is that most places do not think ahead enough and put a trashcan in the handicapped stall. It is VERY embarrassing indeed to have to walk out of the stall with a wet diaper and carry it across the room to the trashcan. Rather than fight a loosing battle for changing tables, we should push for reasonable things - after all, here in America we have the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) that requires all public buildings to make "reasonable accommodations. I am aware of similar laws in the UK, Canada and Australia as well. I would like to see al handicapped restrooms have a covered trash can and either a sink, or disposable washcloths available. Also, a shelf with hooks underneath for clothes and changing accessories when using the stall. © Copyright 1999 - 2008 DailyDiapers.com - All Rights Reserved. Original Graphics and Design by MPA. |
