Dear Daily Diapers Letter with Answer

Dear Daily:

     I have been married for 5 years and in the last 2 or so years my husband has expressed his like for this fetish or whatever you want to call it in wearing diapers. I have no idea why and he says he don't either. I do you think you can help me understand and accept it a little better. id like to make my husband happy by being supportive and understanding but right now I don't understand and have no idea how to accept it. Its strange to me help please any help is better then none?

Dear Loving Wife,

     First off, you are correct... it is weird. A lot of people in this fetish community want to make having a diaper-fetish sound normal. But if it were normal diapers would be right next to boxers in the men's-wear department. 

     It is difficult for me to answer the rest of your letter since your husband has given you no clue as to his reasons for being interested... but to try and help I will give you some of the more common reasons:

1. Incontinence - For me, I have a medical need for diapers and therefore have learned to live with it. But like most "normal" people I like to have some choice in my underwear, so I do look for fun prints and different colors so my diaper is not so cold and medical in appearance.
    

2. Innocence - Many adults want to try and relive their more innocent years, and diapers allow them to do that, while still managing their adult lives. Wearing a diaper and acting like a baby is a very stress-free time for "Adult Babies" and stress-free isn't a feeling we adults get very often
    

3. True Fetish - Probably the most common reason - some adults (especially guys) just plain like wearing diapers. Be it the softness against their crotch, or the warmth of a recently wet diaper, some people do just enjoy being in diapers.
    

4. Escape - Kind of an extension of the innocence category, but to a higher extreme. Some people (especially those who had a difficult childhood) NEED the escape of being a care-free child in diapers for a while (at least in their minds.) 
    

5. Convenience - Many diaper-lovers like having the ability to urinate wherever they are without interrupting what they were doing. If you have ever stood in the bathroom line at a concert hall while missing your favorite song... then you know what I mean :)
    

6. Choice - And to some, it's just another choice in the underwear category. Simple as that.
    

7. Other - There are many more reasons, probably more than I know of.

     My best advice to you would be to talk to your husband about it. If "Why" is not enough for him to answer you, you may just be asking the wrong question.  Ask him what it is about diapers that he likes. Also, how does he feel when diapered that he doesn't feel when not? And of course... just what is he needing? Does he just want to wear diapers, or is he looking to be babied by you to some extent. Is it a sexual thing, or does he desire to be diapered 24/7?

     He may not be able to tell you WHY he wants to wear diapers, but he should be able to tell you more about what his needs and desires are. And.... he should be willing to listen to what your needs and desires are too!
