Being more of a disposable wearer, I did want to try some re-usable diapers, but wasn't sure where to go. Using the DD links tab, I found Baby Pants, which has a good selection of re-usable diapers, clothes, plastic pants, etc. I took a chance, and have since found their products to be of high quality. This review concerns their birds-eye cotton pre-fold diapers.

Overall rating: 10
The Baby Pants birds-eye cotton pre-fold diaper impressed me to say the least. They are very comfy, very soft, very easy to wear. Each diaper uses a 4x8x4 pattern, and they can be doubled or even tripled without issue. I was impressed. One thing I will say, if you normally wear a medium disposable, I'd suggest getting a large reusable, due to shrinkage through laundering, and if you use the "angel wing" fold, you may find it a tight fastening if you don't go a size high.

Comfort Rating: 10
Wearing just one or as high as three in my evaluations, these diapers were extremely comfortable after putting them through the wash cycle a few times (as I understand, this is standard practice for reusable/cloth diapers). Very soft, very pleasing to the skin. Going to bed in one really brought me back.

Capacity Rating: 8
I'm used to disposables in capacity, and was not surprised that one Baby Pants birds-eye pre-fold would hold about two large wettings. When doubled, however, the diapers could hold comfortably up to five. Triple, I still haven't found out, but that gets uncomfortably thick, IMHO. Suffice to say as they are used more, they become a bit more absorbent.

Leaks Rating: N/A
As it should be obvious, these are cloth diapers, meaning you'll need plastic pants to prevent actual leaks; the leaks are dependent on the quality of your plastic pants. I will say that after five good wettings, I wasn't getting much moisture leaking, but after the fifth (doubled), a bit seeped out to my onesie - nothing even close to catastrophic.

Noise Rating: 10
As noise equates to a high rating meaning quietest, this again is largely based upon your plastic pants. The diapers themselves make no noise as they are cloth and pinned into position.

Looks Rating: 1
These diapers are as plain as they come: flat white. The only color on them is the border. Two of my diapers have light baby blue outer stitching, the other two have dark blue stitching on the outer border. Not that the "1" rating is bad - they look just as they should: over-sized baby diapers for adults.

Fasteners Rating: N/A
As with leaks, this is not dependent on the diaper. These diapers do not have fasteners, but are basic 4x8x4 rectangles of birds-eye cotton cloth, fastened typically with pins.

Just ordered these 4x8x4 cotton prefolds from baby-pants.com. Chinese-made, great price (15% discount for ordering 6 or more at one time), cute "baby-pants" label.

From the colored stitching (blue on one side, pink on the other), to the thick, birdseye cotton construction, these diapers (at least initially and hopefully long term) exude quality.

They'll take some additional washing to really fluff up, but even after just a few washes, I can tell these are super thirsty diapers. I wet at least once an hour and with just one cotton flannel prefold used as a soaker, I easily went six hours without the diaper even feeling wet on the outside, just barely damp. Nice!

If you're into cloth diapers, definitely give these a try; I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I have been using the Baby Pants pre-fold for my bedtime diaper for over three months now and never had a leak. They are very soft, very absorbent can handle my heavy bed wetting. After three months of constant use they show no sign of wearing out and still look the same as the day I bought them. Baby Pants them self is a great company and offer service second to none, most of my orders come in the next days mail.
