  1. I’m fairly close to having the components and their connection figured out and on a breadboard to play with the thing. I clearly do not have the knowledge of those of you who have completed this device and much of the experience I have with building electronic gadgets is dated. Regarding other concerns, and coming only as a comment for what it’s worth and not a request, suppose the collar were eliminated and replaced by a buzzer, or an LED, or other harmless device? Now some might then want to replace that buzzer with a different device on their own……. Just a thought. As best I can tell, the wearable bladder sensors from Tena and DFree are not available. The apps are available as I have one installed on my iPhone. I’ve contacted the manufacturers with no response. Perhaps they don’t work or ran into some sort of medical device licensing issue? From my own case as a kid, my parents would have slapped one of those on me the day it became available. The idea of an alarm going off at a user determined level of bladder fullness so the kid could get up and use the toilet rather than wetting the bed would have been too great to pass up. Fortunately, such was not available for me. On the other hand, with Pampers 7 and 8 now available not to mentioned Goodnites XXL for kids up to 165 pounds, maybe it’s easier to just buy the disposable diapers and otherwise ignore the whole issue? Sheesh, I’m only 10 pounds over the advertised maximum weight for Goodnites XXL, although the absorbency would only hold at best one wetting so they would be useless for me. Peace.
  2. No kidding. Although I’ve been inconsistent with daytime wearing, I’ve worn them at night forever. I guess it’s a bigger deal wearing them during the day for now. Hopefully, I’ll fix that in the months going forward. I’ve just adjusted my MegaMax subscription up to accommodate that.
  3. I’m afraid you’re right. The two places I found that claim to offer the DFree unit show them as out-of-stock. Tena says it’s not available in my area yet, I thought as determined by my IP address. So, I used my VPN to check from several other countries and got the same result. I emailed them, and will let you know what I learn — if anything. Seems like a desirable product. In one instance it would wake up a kid as the bladder fills at night rather than waiting for urination to start to trigger a moisture sensor. And the big issue is whether we could intercept the data stream and use it in our application — something that someone with more knowledge than me would have to answer. Anyway, I guess we’re were in sort of a wait and see mode. Meanwhile the parts for the device the tech guys here have developed arrive early next week, so that will keep me busy. All the best to you.
  4. Only in a forum like this could you say you were never a bedwetter as a child but that now your are — and I could reply “Congratulations! You are an encouragement to so many here” — and I would not be considered thoughtless. It gives hope to those who struggle with their nighttime dryness. No doubt those here who aspire to what you have accomplished pay close attention to what you write. I’m not much help with that since I had a natural head-start, managing to stay asleep as I wet the diaper at least through age 8 or 9. The question that remains unanswered is how much my drinking extra water while showering each night before bed kept a good thing going. Or would I have stopped wetting in my sleep if I had not forced the issue? I’ll never know. But since I produce so much urine at night, I think it would have been permanent no matter what I did. And yes, 2.5+ liters per night is a lot. It will often overwhelm a MegaMax and MegaMax stuffer. I hate talking about it to my doctor because while that output is the truth, I’m lying when I agree it would be nice to solve the problem. Actually, it’s not a problem and I don’t want a “solution.” I did manage to share that it’s been a thing my whole life, my pediatrician prescribed nothing for it, so let’s leave things as they are. Doctor probably thinks I’m a nut. If she prescribed something to reduce nighttime urination, I’d just throw the prescription out and say it must not have worked. My diabetes is well under control, my blood pressure is fine, my weight is 175 at 6’. We don’t discuss bedwetting anymore. And I do wet the bed every night. All looks good to me. Just this damn daytime dryness problem to fix.
  5. I’m thinking I pee about five times at night. Since I’ve occasionally measured the weight of my diapers in the morning vs the weight dry, I dump between 2.5 and 3.0 liters per night into my MegaMax and stuffer. Sometimes there’s some leakage into the cloth-lined PUL bloomers I wear over them. But there’s almost never any wetness beyond that. So, I measured how much I typically pee during the day when the urge gets strong to get an idea of my bladder size. Works out to 375 ml which is on the low side of normal. I don’t know if the bladder holds more urine when one is asleep or not. But let’s figure I let loose in my sleep at 500 ml. That would be 5 to 6 times per night which is apparently not unusual for someone who experiences polyuria which I suppose is me. In the infrequent times i do wake up will a full bladder, what am I going to do? Get up and pee in the toilet and go back to bed in a wet diaper? Or get up and pee and put on a dry one that will get wet in an hour or so? Neither. I just wet the diaper in bed — it just doesn’t matter.
  6. Okay, I’m all in on this project. Maybe I just have way too much time on my hands, but anyway … I can’t stop thinking about this, have re-read your posts, and did some research. I gather the idea is to promote urination as often as possible so as to develop urinary incontinence. Good enough. So follow with me here and let me know where I might be going wrong — or whether I’m on to something. The issue isn’t time between wettings as much as it is many very small wettings. That’s what we’re training for I think. So, if we could tell bladder volume in real time then we could create a device that started sending “notifications” to the collar at a given level, increasing the intensity as the bladder filled. This would eliminate any changes in the rate of filling caused by fluid or food consumption. Timing would be irrelevant. So, we need a wearable bladder sensor that transmits its data that we can intercept and use. That has the side benefit of eliminating the wires, cage, condom catheter, etc. Here’s one possibility I found. It transmit to an iPhone/Android app. Maybe they are connected to Tena which has teased about such a product for some time. https://novioscan.com/products/ Apparently there is a unit for kids, and a 2.0 version for adults. There’s a video that shows how it works. Could this even be incorporated into this project? Would it work as well as the condom catheter device? Here’s another one that looks similar. There’s a page that sends you to a whole bunch of US retailers, although some of them seem to be dead links. https://www.dfreeus.biz/how-it-works Below is Google’s AI response when I asked for “wearable bladder sensors for home use.” There are a bunch of hand held models that wouldn’t work, and of course, units for institutions that cost $$ thousands. I gather the prices for these are around $100 - $200. Are they available in the US? AND TO THOSE WITH SOME TECH KNOWLEDGE, WOULD THEY WORK FOR OUR PURPOSE, BEING INTEGRATED INTO THE SYSTEM YOU’VE DESIGNED? Google AI Overview Wearable bladder scanners for home use, such as the DFree and SENS-U 2.0, are non-invasive, ultrasound-based devices that monitor bladder volume in real-time to help manage incontinence by alerting users to impending urination. These devices typically attach to the lower abdomen via adhesive, connect via Bluetooth to a smartphone app, and provide notifications for timely bathroom visits, reducing accidents for seniors or disabled individuals. www.dfreeus.biz +3 Key Options and Features: DFree (Digital Free): A popular wearable, sometimes available to rent or purchase, which provides a "fullness" score from 0-10 on a smartphone app. SENS-U 2.0: A wireless sensor designed to detect when the bladder is full and alert the user. Portable Ultrasound Scanners: Devices like the BVT02 or BladGooffer handheld, quick, 3D imaging for more detailed, on-demand checks rather than continuous, automatic, long-term monitoring. Functionality: These devices help prevent accidents, manage urinary retention, and reduce the need for constant, manual monitoring by caregivers. www.dfreeus.biz +6 These products are generally targeted toward improving quality of life for individuals with incontinence or neurogenic bladder issues. www.dfreeus.biz +3 Okay friends, time for me to put on my nighttime MegaMax and stuffer and get ready for bed.
  7. Sure. I’m not as technically experienced with such projects as are some others here, so I won’t move as quickly since I’ve got some stuff to learn. But I’ll persist.
  8. As I’ve been accumulating parts for this project, one question seems kind of obvious — to me, at least: Why are we using a dog shock collar rather than a sex toy that is designed for human males that appears to do the same thing? Radio controlled, etc. Maybe the reason is obvious and I’m just missing it. Anyway, this is already fun and I’ve yet to warm the soldering iron. Still reliably wet every night and depressingly dry every day. The task seems enormous. Questions, corrections always welcome.
  9. Parts arriving Monday and Tuesday. Clearing off the table/electronics workbench tonight. I’m sure I’ll hit some snags since this is outside the range of the electronics kit building I’ve done over the years. Might use AI to get any help needed as this is kind of a sensitive topic to discuss in detail here. I’m going to modify the design a bit to make it easier to wear out of the house without a control box being obvious. We’ll see. Those who have tried this IRL have met with some success, huh? Thanks for sharing this project!
  10. We’re in similar situations, although I sort of straddle both bedwetting forums here. The quick answer to your question is sometimes I have a sense of needing to pee, and sometimes not. I just ignore the situation. I was a real bedwetter having never stopped wetting in my sleep as I approached third or fourth grade. I don’t think there were any meds at that time to try to treat it, so management was the approach — as well as a lot of pressure to stop, something that wasn’t working but which was creating a lot of stress, and I guess some resentment and even anger on my part for being told to stop doing something I couldn’t stop. Told that I’d have problems growing up with this — that I’d never make it in the Army since a guy got kicked out of my father’s outfit for bedwetting. (Not that I had any desire to be in the Army, and the Vietnam draft had ended a several years before.) So, I guess two things were working at that time. One was I was pissed off (choice of word deliberate), not about wetting the bed, but the pressure to stop. At the same time, I had begun to love wearing and wetting diapers in bed. So, I desperately didn’t want to quit. Hence, I also fit into this Bedwetting Desires forum for sure.. And boy did I have the desires which only grew as I hit puberty. So, to keep getting diapers, around age eight I just started drinking a lot of water while taking my shower before going to bed. Obviously, that was easy to do without getting caught. And, of course, it worked. The result is I’ve never stopped wetting the bed even though I don’t have to do anything to make myself wet the bed now. Or I guess I should say wet a MegaMax with one of their inserts and a pair of cloth-lined vinyl pants over it all. That does the trick. From measuring the weight of all that dry, then again wet in the morning, I pass out 2.5 liters of urine per night. Clearly, this happens more than from past training? I think so. I have not pursued this with a physician at all. We did then when I was a kid, and the doc said something about glands not doing what they were supposed to do — something I now know as very low production of ADH naturally. To answer your question, finally, sometimes I wake up needing to go and many times i do not. I work from home and sometimes check in online from bed using my notebook, so if I do sense some fullness, I just ignore it since I’m wet anyway. Hope this helps!
  11. Okay. As is usual, I underestimated myself. I’m not engineer, but I’ve played with electronics projects long enough to figure this thing out. I guess curiosity got the best of me, and I got busy. Made a parts list and ordered them from an electronics store. I’ve wanted to experiment with Arduino for some time, so here I go, albeit with something far more unusual than I would have expected. Anyway, can the request for help identifying components in the photo. It will be next week before all the components arrive. Then the fun begins. Can’t wait to see if it works on me.
  12. Been shopping for parts. I’ve modified programs for Raspberry Pi before, so this looks doable. If it’s not too much trouble, if someone could identify the parts on the photo below, that would really help me get up to speed. It’s the mini boards that interest me — the electrolytic capacitor in the back is obvious.
  13. No regrets at all. You can see my recent post on Incontinent Desires about how I decided I loved wearing disposable diapers to bed and wetting them in bed in my sleep or awake around third grade I think. I had been a bedwetter up to that point and was overcome with a desire for it to continue. So I successfully sabotaged my parents’ efforts to cure me. Anyway, been one ever since. Have tried to lose daytime control with no results Now back at it again!
  14. I started this project with a bit of an advantage — I am a natural bedwetter. If you’ve read my posts on bedwetting elsewhere, just skip the next paragraph which will be repetitive for you. I did not stop wetting the bed at the typical age. It continued in spite of parents’ efforts to “cure” me. I don’t recall taking any meds — perhaps not much was available around 1980 or so? Anyway, somewhere around age eight I guess, one day I realized I really, really liked wearing diapers. My fear was if I got “cured” there would be no more diapers. So, I sabotaged the efforts to end the bedwetting by drinking a lot of water when taking a shower or bath which was always right before i went to bed. Would I have stopped wetting the bed in my sleep without doing that? Dunno. And sometimes I couldn’t get to sleep before I needed to pee, so I just did it in my disposable diaper. I’m guessing now trying to end my bedwetting, which I do not wish to do, might be very difficult or impossible — at least to stop completely such that I could stop wearing diapers to bed. I’m fine with permanent bedwetting. Best I can tell from weighting the diaper and stuffer dry before putting them on, and then when wet after taking them off in the morning, I pee about 2.0 to 2.5 liters overnight. If my bladder capacity is even 400 ml, that’s five to six wettings per night or almost one per hour. For the medical minded, I’ve been told that my ADH production fails to go up at night. Anyway, the only way I can hope to contain that volume is with a MegaMax and one or two Pampers with the backing cut away and used as stuffers in the front. That will do it as disposables are notorious for not distributing the wetness to all parts of the diaper — as everyone here no doubt knows. Okay, back to the current project. I’ve worn diapers during the day for periods of time since then. More recently, I’ve been in them consistently during the day when not at home for about a year. I never try to hold it. What I have noticed is the frequency is up, but sometimes I can go two hours before needed to pee. If I am at home, I try to go as often as possible, responding immediately to any urge. Sometimes, I’ll pee every 30-45 minutes. Other times, it’s a couple of hours. I note my stream is much weaker than it was years ago. When I’ve measured a void it is usually about 300-400 ml which I think is on the low-normal side. I need to get that down to about half that I think. I’m working at this from a couple of angles. One is to increase fluid intake, especially of beverages that can irritate the bladder such as diet soda of which I’m very fond. I don’t consume alcohol for a couple of medical reasons, so that’s out. I’m also trying to pee even when I don’t feel like it. That’s very frustrating. And I’m having a couple of custom audio files created by Amy and Bella who have been mentioned on DD — amyandbellawets.com — since I’ve liked the files I’ve bought. They have a “custom” file creation service. And, no, I receive no financial compensation from mentioning them — just like to share businesses I like. That’s why I never mention Walmart….. Anyway, one goal of the files is to help convince me that I’m at real risk of a wetting accident in public if I were to choose not to wear a diaper, which as I said, I already do. We shell see how this works. Glad to share with others as we pursue our goals to success! Craig

  15. As a natural and consistent bedwetter most all of my life, I’ve experimented with the idea of taking that to the level of daytime accidents. Or at least developing the real concern that I might wet my pants when away from home meaning I’d need to wear diapers at least when not at home. So, that’s a goal. This sounds like a very worthwhile project to try. I’ve put together plenty of electronics kits over the decades as a hobby, and while I’m a not an engineer, I’ve got a good idea of what discreet components as well as different ICs do. My programming skills are dated. For example, I put together a Raspberry Pi based Wi-Fi unit and did the minimal programming required. And it even works. I recognize the concern someone might have of making and selling these. Noted. Nevertheless, perhaps creating a parts list and some generic instructions for building this thing might be doable, especially if it could also be made into a unit for some unrelated purpose as well, thereby leaving it up to the buyer to build whatever he or she wants with the information and parts, one of which just happening to be this contraption. Just a thought from the curious. Thanks!
