  1. My methodology is dependent on being connected to a "town" water supply with sanitary sewers and a pressurized water supply. No issues with flushing the pulp down the toilet as long as long as it is adequately wetted. If some non-wetted pulp goes down it can swell in the base of the toilet and will require plunging. The consistency of wetted pulp is similar to poop. It's important to separate the plastic and the non-woven fabric facing from the pulp, both of which may hang up downstream
  2. For years I have been removing the wet portions of disposable diapers by shaking the wet fluff to one end and ripping the liner open to disgorge the contents into the toilet. You need to be careful to fully wet the fluff before flushing, otherwise the toilet can get plugged. Then just roll up the remainder, which is much smaller than a full diaper, also doesn't smell in the trash. My concern with using a macerator is that all of the plastic and non-woven fabric might clog up the macerator blades and besides the plastic might jam the sewer downstream.
  3. Part of the lyrics from Golden Earring song Radar Love The radio's playing some forgotten song Brenda Lee's "Coming on Strong" The road has got me hypnotized And I'm a-speedin' into a new sunrise
  4. There is no instruction book when we are born, but the warranty expires on various systems of the body between the ages of 40 to 50. It's only then that we find out how wonderful are bodies are and mourn what we once took for granted.

  6. Hi Bobby C, Yes the briefs have enough crotch width to hold diapers. To illustrate this, I've taken photos of abri fix pants and cotton high waist panties over Rearz Be Dry diaper for comparison. (First time taking diaper pictures and posting them.)
  7. I too am a big fan of the Abri-fix cotton pants. While they are (were) expensive, they lasted well and always did their job of keeping the diaper snug and preventing tapes or tabs from shifting. I have searched for NOS of the Abri-fix cotton pants without success, it seems that disposible diapers are too successful and have eliminated many of the reuseable products fronm the market. (There may be stock or equivalents in the eastern block countries) I have used women's cotton high waist panties with some success. These hold their shape well and do a good job of keeping things together. https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/HoppidiHandmade?ref=yr_purchases&section_id=32762914
  8. This is a delightful description of the situation, I too have experienced and something for me to remember the next time I consider the possibility............
  9. Michael Caine played the role of Harry Palmer, a cold war spy in three films based on novels by Len Deighton. The first was The Ipcress File, presumably The Breast Milk File is a play on words of the movie title. I remember reading a whole slew of books by John Le Carré and Len Deighton in the sixties. Thrilling stuff for a young teen.
  10. Got my free Covid and flu shot so i can visit my daughter in California. The thought of being exposed to all of the seasonal flu in the close confines of airplanes gives me the heebie jeebies.
  11. My experience with washing cloth diapers has slowly evolved over the years. I rinse them after use (pee only) and store them in a five gallon pail for two or three days in water with a splash of vinegar. I then spin them dry in the washing machine and check their smell after the spin cycle and if they're OK, wash them in a regular cycle. If they smell like a "barnyard" as someone put it, I throw them back in the bucket with hot water and a cup of household ammonia to ponder their sins for few hours. From there they go straight into the regular washing cycle and they smell much better, with perhaps a touch of ammonia background which dissipates after drying. I typically line dry after tumble drying for 20 minutes. Something i recently discovered is the water remaining in a washing machine can get "funky" between washes, so now I run a cleaning cycle once a month of so with bleach or Affresh. Bleach works just as well and it's much cheaper.
  12. Hi Spargano. Following the evolution of your stents with interest. I'm fairly clear on the construction, but i don't understand what appears to be an extra piece added to the interior tube which makes the stent bulge, I've circled the piece in the photo. What is its function and how do you get the tubing to expand around it?
  13. Love all the references to Slapshot and Canadian hockey. Chapter was lots of fun.
