Have you tried looking at medical supply stores in your area.

Thrift stores are hit or miss.....sometimes they have diapers and sometimes they do not......I've been fortunate to find some good diapers Abena X-Plus, Attends and Tranquility ATN"s....other times all you will find are cheap genetic diapers...

I don't think you are being paranoid at all...when I first started wearing diapers in public I felt like everyone could tell I had a diaper on...just wear loose fitting clothing to hide your diaper...as for the crinkle crowd noise drowns the sound out...I think going to a different town is a good idea it will make you less nervous about running into someone you know...In summary, wearing diapers is a thrilling experience and I hope you enjoy wearing in public...
