About Me
"I'm old enough to know better but still young enough to do it anyway" thats what i think of being in your 40's
I was a Professional and Volunteer Firefighter, but in this life you are either the bug or the windshield i went from windshield to bug and was forced to leave my job and my Volunteering behind due to illness. But all is not lost i have been an Amateur Radio operator for the last 20 Years of my life and have enjoyed serving the public good that way and thats something i can continue to do and i am a Life member of the A.R.R.L ( American Radio Relay League ) so being a computer and radio geek you get to have lots of fun all the time. I also have a computer dedicated to The National Weather Service with a Weather station attached to it that monitors wind direction speed, rainfall, UV, solar radiation, temperatures Highs and lows, barometric pressure, soil moisture and temperature ,and in Normal mode it sends this to NTS and N.O.O.A every 15 minutes by radio in Emergency or active storm alert the system sends reports every 5 minutes. i am also a trained and certified weather observer for SkyWarn which most people in the midwest are more familiar with our missions as tornado trackers who provide the sighting reports for on the ground twisters what towns that need to take cover and what not because we are actively out tracking them in vehicles . Ham radio has a lot of varied and different public good aspects and it also has plenty of time for you to experiment and create new technology there are literally thousands of things that people do and use everyday that was created by ham radio operators and donated to society, because in our charter and the guiding principals we follow we accept no money for our services a cup of coffee or a donut when working constantly during a disaster we will not turn down but all else is free,we build or buy our own radios and antennas and anything we need to "get on the air" and many times the "Pro's" come to us to tech them how to use there radios more effectively because Hams have perfected "doing more with less". aside from radios and computers i collect stamps as another hobby specifically those related to Hams Marconi, Tesla, Maxim, Morse as well as Disabled Americans and the great Conductor Toscanini as i own a collection of original photographs of him that i got from the original photographers Widow when she died my Mother inherited them and before her death she passed on to me which ever pieces i desired. and i suppose if they eve came out with a commemorative stamp on incontinence i would buy that as well. I can be reached by email at tdxsp08@neo.rr.com
