I know people are disappointed in this new ABU diaper and I agree that it should have had a pink poly backsheet and perhaps pink standing leg cuffs, but let's not bash ABU too badly. After all, they brought us the SDK and the Cushies, both of which are very nice diapers just for our market. They invested the money and took the risk, and are trying to bring us new products. I suggest we give them calm, constructive feedback.

 

If we rage "ABU sucks!", they are hardly inspired to keep supplying our paltry slice of the market. If we say instead, "ABU, if you'll make a diaper with features X, Y, and Z, we'll buy lots and lots," they'll probably be more willing to invest in bringing us new products.

I think ABU's SDKs are the most baby-diaper-like of any of the adult-sized products. The single, large tape per side and the taping panel make it look and feel like a scaled-up version of Pampers Baby-Dry from the mid '90s. The only thing they don't have quite right is the smoothness of the plastic outer cover. The only adult diaper I know of with the same smooth plastic is Wellness. Attends used to be made with the EXACT same cover as Pampers, of course. I think Depend are still made with the same plastic as Huggies, but they were never quite as smooth as Pampers and Luvs.

My wife loves the European Tenas, so I'd love to be a trading partner. I have (or have access to) nearly any US brand you want, and have shipped plenty overseas before.

Surely there has to be a way to develop a smooth plastic-like backsheet out of corn or something similar.

It's already been done. Several years ago, the Nature Boy and Girl diapers had a smooth plastic-like backsheet that was actually made from cornstarch. I imagine they still do, except that the cover has cloth-like "fuzz" applied to it.

There are at least two brands of baby diapers still available with plastic backsheets in the US: Cool Diaps, available at some Babies-r-Us stores, and Bentley, available at various online stores/eBay.

By unused, do you also mean unworn? I wear often, but I prefer my diapers dry and don't get any thrill from wetting, so I throw away a lot of diapers that have been worn but are unused.

Kendall / Lille will change to cloth cover diapers in a not too distant future

I'll honestly state that I don't like any of these products.  They are either oriented to the fetish crowd, or the wording the package lies to my face.

What products are you talking about? All adult diapers? What package lies to your face?

Does anybody know of a way to hide the "BABY BABY BABY" schit you see on the taping panel of some of these?

I'd argue that the ABU diaper, which have a taping panel almost exactly like Pampers Baby-Dry from the late '90s, are more babyish than Bambino. Those are the most babyish adult diapers I have. I'd give 'em 4 out of 5, and if they had a single large tape per side, they'd be a perfect 5.




I'm presently wearing Attends with waistband, and I think they're quite babyish. Just compare them to Luvs Super Baby Pants from the early '80s, which they resemble remarkably, save for the three tapes on each side. I'd give 'em 3.5 out of 5.

I really try not to be a grammar nazi who nitpicks every little mistake and typo on the board, but the post above just begs for attention. RandomDL, since you took the time to write all that, I assume you wanted others to read it. If so, then you should at least put forth an effort to make it readable. As it is, you're giving your audience a headache!

Here's a hint: A period is not used to end a paragraph. A period is used to end a sentence--the expression of a single thought or, sparingly, two or three thoughts strung together with conjunctions.

I'm not telling you this to put you down nor attack you nor make you feel bad. I'm doing it for your own good, man! In this society, if you want to succeed at anything--career, relationships, friendships--communication is vitally important. Being able to write well is a key part of that. I don't know what you do for a living, but let's say you're the world's best computer repair guy. If you wrote a paragraph like the one above in an interview, I wouldn't care how fast you could fix a PC, I still wouldn't hire you.

I don't live in New Jersey so I can't add much to the thread, but I just wanted to say ^^^ that is awesome! Your wife's support of your AB/DL side would make for a nice topic on its own.
