I would like to get rid of it but because the member is no longer in the system I can't "de-select" it.
Can anyone help me get rid of it?

A friend whose account was terminated still has the friend icon on my page.
I would like to get rid of it but because the member is no longer in the system I can't "de-select" it.
Can anyone help me get rid of it?

Go to the top of this page and see your screen name with the down tab arrow? Click that once and you should see a sub menu come up. Within that is Manage friends, in there is a icon on the right to remove them from your friends list.

Thanks, R, but I tried this already. When you click on Manage Friends, you can only click on people who are still there. In this case, the person is not there. The icon is, but the person's account is not. Weird, eh?
