Their diapers are what they are, a thin diaper that doesn't hold a lot. Why people even try to put them in the same category as high capacity diapers is beyond me.

Darkfinn, what's strange about that is if you've ever looked at a detailed picture of a real NASA diaper (available on wellness's own web site) then you'd notice that a wellness diaper is constructed nowhere the same level of quality.
And would have no need to be so

There wasn't a company making diapers for NASA. NASA made the diapers themselves, they owned the machinery. They've got enough of a stockpile to last well into the foreseeable future, so they shut down the operation and sold off the equipment and associated patents, which were bought by Wellness.
I have to disagree. While NASA did develop the MAG, later they switched to a commercially-available brand called "Absorbencies". In my research, I have seen no evidence that NASA had any diaper manufacturing equipment, nor did they sell anything to the folks at Wellness.Source: http://www.latimes.c...,0,932821.story
A NASA spokeswoman said the official brand used now is Absorbencies, manufactured by a company that has folded.
Fortunately, NASA owns a huge stockpile. The agency snapped up 3,200 of the diapers about 15 years ago, the spokeswoman said, and "we still have about a third of the supply left."

I don't know about that. Some of the things those astronauts have to endure might require a diaper for heavy duty use! Like take offs and landings.....never mind space walks...the take off is enough to get you to fill your pants alone! And would have no need to be so
It doesn't matter what you get, how much you make or what you have, what matters is what you DO with it..
It doesn't matter what happens to you in life, whats important is what you DO about it, and how you react to it.

I don't see why they just didn't use dry 24/7's! they would last the entire voyage!

My point was that Wellness didn't have to be as good as a MAG. I am sure those were better than a Wellness. But as never used one of the MAG's I can't say for sure.

Correct, once astronauts suit up they are going to be in those suits for several hours... and lieing on their backs with feet up, as the seats are oriented in spacecraft, makes the body go into fluid elimination overdrive... astronauts can lose up to a gallon of fluid by the time they take off.

Says right on the display they were mainly for females as men used condom caths and leg bags. Nowadays they all wear regular commercial diapers.
The one I saw was made in 83 and fitted for Sally Ride. (Actually Says "Size: S. Ride" on the label.)

So in terms of the original news that started this thread, I'm looking forward to their new diaper. Even with their questionable claims and advertising, I'm always up for something new. I just looked at the first post and they claim that they're more absorbant that Molicare or Abena. Maybe they're talking about the lowest end Molicare and Abena because they certainly don't even approach the Mol Super Plus and the Abena X-Plus.
Here I go again, I should work for them

If you are looking for thick and thirsty super waddle go somewhere else... if you want a solid performer daytime diaper that fits securely and holds up to rigorous activity then give these a try.
