  1. How many of you have these questions regularly? . I do. Your diaper is half wet. You are due to go out somewhere. Perhaps to a bar, perhaps to restaurant or something else. Your current diaper does not really need changing yet but you know that if you do not change you will Possibly be in trouble later. You will most likely be soaked and possibly leaking whilst enjoying your activity. If you change now it will be wasteful. A half used diaper being discarded. Do you change before you go out , do you take the risk or do you take a spare diaper with you??. (Not always easy to take/ and or change).. The same scenario at night. Your diaper is partially wet. If you do not change it will probably leak before waking!. Or do you always ensure you go to bed with a dry diaper?. Another poser?. You have a fairly dry diaper. Then you find you mess in it. Do you change then or continue to use the relatively dry diaper albeit soiled?. I seem to have these situations arising regularly and others have told me similar . Would be interested to find out others thoughts on these issues bearing in mind none of us like throwing out diapers needlessly due to the cost.
  2. Was in hospital for 18 days and changed the whole time I was there by the nurses. Was good to have some one else do it.
  3. I spent 17 days in hospital last year and was diapered the whole time. The nurses changed me about 4 or 5 hours except at night. They were fairly thorough cleaning me generally and asked regularly if I would like a change.
  4. Lately I`ve been messing my diapers quite abit. Probably once a day on average. I`ve been using diapers for years for urinary incontinence. Originally, the uroligist suggested I should start using them and have found them good and much better than walking around with wet pants and a soaked bed at night. During recent months, as I said, I have been soiling them fairly regularly. Does not worry me unduly although you get a little sick of changing dirty ones and cleaning up. But, overall, it is not such a big deal. Mentioned this to the urologist recently when i had my last visit. What he said surprised me somewhat. He said: "In my experience I see many diaper users and from what I have noticed not too many people use diapers that do not mess , atleast on occasions. Seems to be a convenience of using them. I would not worry too much about it". I found this somewhat reassuring as he went onto say it was a psychological phenomena of wearing diapers continuously. Pretty well known in many circles.! Have others found this? Have you heard similar information from the experts?
  5. Before i started wearing diaps. 24/7 my most embarrassing times was when I wet my pants when with others. And this happened often. When you are out with others and you feel it trickling down your legs and there is no way of stopping it. Or once when I was in hospital. The first day I was undiapered. I was walking around the hospital talking to people I new when there was a flood. After that, and on the suggestion of the nurses, i was constantly diapered., But you get used to it. The more the accidents the more you learn to live with it.
  6. I poop and wet in whatever I am wearing, when the need arises. Mainly wear diapers as they contain it better. I think we are too self concsious about these issues.
  7. I do not try to conceal my diapers -atleast I take no special precautions. Firstly it is my business that I wear diapers and no one elses. Secondly there are many adults and teens that wear diapers because they either have to or because of chouice and convenience. Figures that I have seen quoted put it at about 10% wear diapers or pads. Just forget about it - It is not an issue. Does any one ask "what type of underpants are you wearing"?
  8. It was the wire mesh type. DSD caused by: car accident and back injury and aggravated by a fall regards.
  9. I had one inserted for DSD by a urologist. He was quite comfortable with doing it.I still had some control but leaked a little. Problem was that it became encrusted after about 12 months and restricted flow- and also ended up "migrating" or moving. It had to be removed quite quickly as it was blocking every thing. General anaesthetic was needed to remove it as it "was stubborn" to retrieve. I would not hesitate to suggest it to your urologist but, after my experience, would not really recommend one.
  10. 3 to 4 changes a day (5-10 minutes each change), Longer if messed, every day or so. One good shower a day. Cloth diapers normally at night. Laundering every 2nd day. $10 day for disposables. Laundering approx $2-50 per day. Doctors appointments a few $100 dollars a year. Powders, creams, etc, wipes, probably about $10 a week. Quite costly over a 12 month period.
  11. Wake up with normally a soaked flanellete nappy (usually about 4 thicknesses) and plastic pants. Usually have a tea or coffee read the paper etc. Sometimes it will be messy. Then shower, put ona Tena Maxi (medium). If I know I won`t be able to change until late into the day would often wear a booster pad inside the Tena. If I know I probably cannot change till night may go for a Abro form X Plus. Most days change early afternoon. then again in the evening. Use plenty of cream, such as Desitin with powder to keep the rashes away. Have found this routine has worked well for years.
  12. Wet diapers generally do not smell to be detectable unless you go many, many hours without changing. Always use some wipes if possible, cream and powder/ It is imagination./ I know cause I weat 24/7 and have for years. Messed diapers are a different story and probab ly should be changed when you are out as soon as reasonably possible.
  13. The main thing is to use a good diaper until you get it sorted and keep some spares, wipes, cream, powder (and plastic bag for the messed diapers) handy like is a computer bag or back pack.
  14. I`m bladder incontinent and wear 24/7 for that. Got pretty good bowel control except, like most people the ocassional accident. But I Have a query for others. Do you when you are wearing feel the need to pooh and after awhile, even though you can control it you say to yourself - "I need to pooh, I have a diaper on, dam it I might as well use it,I will feel more comfortable and you let go.It is more of a convenience thing. Wondering whether others do this? Would be interested in your feedback. Can happen thru the night as well.
