  1. Like with cars and televisions, lemons do occur from time to time. I bought a case of Abenas in which roughly half had the dreaded pinhole leak, right at the "point of attack" (front crotch region).
  2. Yes, when you consider the Large size. However, it's more like 27 cents per unit difference for Mediums. Dry 247 Mediums/Larges: 72 for $119 = $1.65 per unit. Bambino Classico Large: 48 for $77 = $1.60 per unit. Bambino Classico Mediums: 48 for $66 = $1.38 per unit.
  3. I'd second the recommendation for Dry 24/7.
  4. This. Kneeling works well for me, on my hands and knees, when I'm unable to relinquish control lying down. That way he won't have to get out of bed.
  5. If he's not diapered all the time, you could have him text you every time he has to go potty and when he's done. And you can always text him to remind him to wash his hands.
  6. The suitcase/duffel bag you used when you moved in.
  7. Keep your head up bro. While learning about the physics of a train traveling 25 km/h from Las Vegas to Chicago might seem inane, it sets the stage for a greater understanding of the world you live in -- and the universe outside it. For instance, what if an asteroid were hurtling at the Earth at the rate of 350 km/sec, and it was 9.1 billion km away? If you're the only person on Earth who knew how much time the government had to get its sh*t together and blow the damn thing up with a crazy space laser, you'd feel pretty damn cool about yourself, right? Also, journalism allows for ample opportunity to continue this learning process. In that profession, more than many others, there's always something new and exciting to learn every day for the rest of your life -- if you go out seeking it.
  8. I was either 6 or 7. My mom's boyfriend had a daughter who was still in diapers, so we had a stash in the house. It was Easter. My mom, brother and I went to church for services. When we returned, I found my dad had left an Easter basket with some candy and a card with a $10 bill in it. I had been looking for an excuse -- any excuse -- to try on a diaper, so I said to my mom: "Dad gave me $10. Where's my $10 from you?" She refused to give me any money, so I said "If you don't give me money, I'm going to put on a diaper. That'll teach you" (or something to that effect). She just ignored me (rightfully so, looking back), so I put on the diaper. It was a Pampers, size 4 I think. My mom continued to ignore me, so I walked over to the neighbor's house, where there was an Easter egg hunt going on. I remember walking into the backyard, seeing all the kids running around, and said "What the heck am I doing?" and ran back to the house, took off the diaper, and went back to the hunt.
  9. Thanks for that. Today I almost blew money I didn't have on a car, and instead went and ran on the beach. It helped when I found out the car I wanted to buy had been a rental ('first owner' my ass, mr. salesman). Back on topic, I've dropped 30 pounds in the past 6 months. The biggest help for me was portion control and healthy snacking. I don't snack throughout the day, but one in the morning and one in the afternoon (apples, string cheese, nuts, yogurt) has helped limit my hunger when I'm not having big meals. Also, there are plenty of healthy, delicious desserts.
  10. For mass-produced beer: Newcastle Brown Ale For budget beer: MGD For craft beer: Firestone's Double Barrel Ale
  11. Ahhh... the good ole phonograph. I knew they had them at the senior centers, but didn't know you could actually mix music on 'em.
  12. Damn roommates. Same thing happened to me -- went diaper-less for more than a year.
  13. I'm trying to quit a pack-a-day habit -- it's been 11 days. I use my Nuk5 when I'm having a nicotine-fit at home. I find it helps ever so slightly; nicotine gum helps more. I don't have the cajones to bust the Nuk out in public, however.
  14. I never had a problem with the dining hall food, but I wouldn't call it spectacular. The salad bar was always money though. Glad you got through Nickell's class. The essays were a pain in the ass -- I remember I went to his office hours a couple of times for help, more than any other class I took.
  15. I put an SDK over my Abena M4 (X-Plus). My cat scratched a couple holes in the Abena, so I needed some extra protection.
