just a moan to no one i have had many bowel ops and after the last 2 ops i have suffered from fistulas if you do not know a fistula is from your bowels connecting up to somewhere else.my situation is from my bowel through my belly button,operation scar.i wear a bag that on most occasions collects the discharge but i suffer from leaks which means that i have to change my tops,trousers and underwear so most of the people i am in contact with are not SHOCK but understand.i am having a bad time at the moment so trying anything to help.even negative comments will be read it helps me pass the time.i am on a waiting list for surgery but when it happens i do not know just trying to keep up my mood.just having a bad time

Is there anyway to fit an absorbent pad over/around the area your having leaks?

after the 1st recent op yes I could put large dressings over the wound but after the last fix/op it is not

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I am dealing with a recent change to having a colostomy bag myself. I am lucky to not having any issues of waste not going into my bag but I have a wound on my rectum that I use a dressing on that catches all of the fluid drainage. I used to wear pull ups to catch the excess. Is this a possibility?

most of the time it does not get me down but need to shout every now and again.i have used every type of protection including wrapping a towel round my waist triple thickness at front and wrapped clingfilm over the top with high waisted plastic pants,not a good look and not very comfortable,but I needed sleep after leaking into the bedding a couple of times.Hopefully before the year is out I will have an operation and a permanent solution to my problem will happen then I can wear again for fun
