lassthan300
I want to order some stuff from adult-baby-shop.eu but I noticed something odd.: they charge VAT on orders exported out of the EU. I'm form canada and normally when I make an account with an EU vendor, the prices are adjusted to exclude VAT, but that's not the case with adult-baby-shop.eu. When I contacted the site, this was the reply: "Hi, We are small business owners. the prices are with VAT. You can reclaim the VAT in your country policy." Now, its kinda in Hungarianish English... But that doesn't make sense. From what I read, taxes are to be adjusted by the vendor for specific EU countries if shipped to other EU countries, or excluded from the price altogether if shipped outside the EU. I've tried contacting them again but there's been no reply. If anyone could share any input or experience with this, it would be appreciated. Link to comment
Bettypooh
You might try sending them a copy of the EU 'excluding' regulation in their native language (or a language they are conversant with). You really can't do much in these kinds of matters as the seller can and will do whatever they want. Here in the US tax laws vary from state to state so we get something similar where one buyer must pay tax while another doesn't That's always clearly listed in their shipping policies or shopping-cart sections. International sales can be a can of worms sometimes and more than a few have discovered to their chagrin that more taxes were due once the parcel reached their home shores Best to check the regulations on both ends before doing international business! lassthan300
That's exactly why I don't want to pay VAT. I have my own country's taxes to pay when it gets to the border. Link to comment
