If I happened to be wearing, i would probably just say that they were my preferred choice of underwear I guess... I'm sure they've seen weirder stuff

I have actually had this scenario happen to me and my fiance. We were t-boned by a 85 year old in a Toyota last summer. I was wearing an euro attends l-10 and had been wearing it for about two hours prior. I broke my left leg due to me trying to brace myself last second. Long story short, the doctor in the ER had to cut my pant leg off and exposed my diaper at the same time. I was embarrassed but explained I had bladder issues and found it easier to be diapered to reduce the chance of accidents. They set my leg, took the diaper off and rediapered me in a fresh one and set me on my way. It was interesting and embarrassing but I'm glad to be alive. Plus, being in a cast, it was nice to be diapered for the weeks following

If I was conscious I would just say 'dispose of the diaper, I am not dependent on them.' and leave it at that. If they inquire further I would say it isn't their business and isn't a medical concern. Most paramedics just want the info they need so they can do their job quickly.

I'm no doctor but to answer your question, yes, I was released same day. I was hit early afternoon and was out of the hospital towards night fall. After the leg was casted, I received a physical evaluation to ensure I didn't have any other onset problems then instructed to follow up with my primary the next day. Seeing that I was in a fair amount of pain, I wasn't asked if I could change myself considering I was laying flat on an examination table. Being that I was at a hospital under a physicians care, they limit what you can do yourself do to insurance issues and medical malpractice problems.

You were T-boned and ended up with a broken leg and yet they let you go the same day? ... As far as I was aware the nurses will not change you unless you absolutely can't do it yourself, which doesn't sound like it would have been the case here...

Actually happened to me once. I told the paramedic I thought I wet myself. He said nope you're dry. I replied I'm pretty sure I did and that my diaper was going to need changing. He chuckled and said beats dirty underwear, I get that more than you'd think.

I would be more concerned about what they would be thinking and if CPS would be called because I didn't need to wear them.

Should that really matter? You don't know them and they don't know you. What some stranger thinks of you should have absolutely no impact on how you see your self. Besides, if you're riding in a ambulance they have more pressing concerns than to try and judge you for wearing a diaper.

Also, why would child protective services get involved just because you were wearing a diaper in an ambulance (for what ever reason)? Unless you were just in the process of physically abusing a child (and got your but kicked in return), then CPS has nothing to do with you as an adult, or what you like to wear.

Well for me wearing out and a about getting spotted in a diaper is a worse case scenario as my wife's parents are VPs for the hospital I would be rushed too. I would prefer to not explain to either of them why I was wearing a diaper or why my wife was. Just not a conversation I wouldn't enjoy having.

There are ignorant and closed minded people out there and corrupted CPS so they might think someone wearing a diaper for none medical reason means unfit parent or a sicko.

Lots of people are incontinent and dont tell thier doctors because its embarrassing for them. I told the doctor only because I needed a prescription for diaapers. Its not really embarrassing for me but I hate when you tell the doctor and they want to push pills instead of diapers. Thats why I didn't want to tell my doctor. People have thier own reasons not to tell thier doctor. So just because it's not in your medical record dont mean your not incontinent. So you can use the incontinent excuse when caught wearing diapers.
