SoakedinTexas
I see that Betty decided to close the other topic. But as of yesterday I am still get the suspicious site warning every time I log on using my phone. So I am guessing that it is not yet fixed. Link to comment
Baby Brian
Have you cleared you browser history and cookies? It's probably still loaded on your own machine. Link to comment
SoakedinTexas
Not on the machine. On the android phone. And yes I have cleared it and ran scans still get the warning when I come to Daily Diapers on the phone. Link to comment
Baby Brian
Huh, I have an android and it never even popped up on mt lookout security software. I've only heard good things about that software too. Link to comment
DailyDi
We've been scanned by Google and 3 independent services. I have no reason to believe there is still malware here. Link to comment
Repaid1
When I got something like that on my computer I used the bypass feature and then it prompted me to allow from then on... If your phone does that, seems like the best answer. I never logged on with my phone before, so I did it just now, no problem detected... I sure hope you don't have McAfee running on your phone if so get rid of it and find something better, anything is , it's notorious for giving false positives Link to comment
SoakedinTexas
Yeah Repaid I tried all of that to bypass and it don't work. Couldn't even make a report to mark this place as safe. I did some research on this and it looks like it is something installed on the phone by Verizon. I can't stand McAfee either but as much as I try and clear as many cookies or history this keeps coming back for this site. No other site I go to but this one. Tells me that something is happening to trigger it. And this only started a short time ago and I have had this same phone for over a year and never had it happen until just recently. Link to comment
DailyDi
Tried to request a review but their form doesn't work. Link to comment
SoakedinTexas
Of course it wouldn't work, why would anything that McAfee do work right? I will look at it more on my end also maybe I will find more information. Thanks for looking at it. If any ideas come up someone let me know. Link to comment
Little BabyDoll Christine
Do not even TALK to me about McAfee and Norton. And they come bundled with freeware. They may be alright for securing webmail but as for user systems? A real case of Tight Tiara Syndrome Link to comment
Bettypooh
McAfee and Norton are often bundled as 'freeware' with other things which tells you what their real value is Link to comment
Little BabyDoll Christine
The 3 best that I know are grisoft AVG: AntiVirus Guard, avast! and MalwareBytes. The latter two work together. Also FireFox has a good security built in. IE can be secure but you have to work at it. Also, I use a webmail service provided by my ISP (mostly because I do not know how to activate an onboard mailer). Net result is that I've deliberately opened links in email that looked like attack sites just to watch the fun. ONe time I picked up a turd in an image download and it got by my shield and avast! caught it and destroyed it These apps are not just anti-virus, they are anti-malware. Cone are the days of running separate anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-adware, anti-keylogger and anti-rootkit apps, although, if you do something dumb, you can still be gotten, A couple of years ago, I downloaded Photo Pas Pro as freeware and it had a passenger that stuck my whole OS on a single DLL. and if you download any freeware use custom install and reject anything like Sendori or Trivoli. These are browser hijakers. Hoever, I downloaded a free digital image frame generator and as part of the end user agreement, Trivoli was to be automatically installed. it was in checking on that, that I found out what Trivoli is. Now, that does not mean that the folks who create the freeware are at fault. It is usually done by the site providing the download page. CNET is notorious for that so that Irfan Skiljian took the IrfanView download off that site Link to comment
SoakedinTexas
I do use AVG on my phone for virus guarding but at one of the last updates about 2 or 3 months ago from Verizon they installed VZ Protect on the phone. I hadn't had any problems with it until just recently and now when coming to this site Link to comment
id0ntknow
Not to take away from the topic, but I thought I would add what I use on my computer. These include Malwarebytes, Spybot Search and Destroy, and Microsoft Security Essentials. I was using AVG beforehand, but it kept interfering with a game I was playing, even after putting the game folder as an exclusion. I've had no problems at all while running these 3 programs. Little BabyDoll Christine
I used to run Spybot, Adaware, AVG and KeyScrambler but I was informed by my tech that avast! does all of that. A friend, also a security pro said that MalwareByes will also help and plays nice with avast. Avast! has shields like the Enterrpise. So my defense is 1. webmail; which makes my email site remote and not "in-house", 2. Firefox, 3. avast! shields 4 avast! internal and MalwareBytes. This is called "defense in depth" and I really only use two apps. It is like having 3 pairs of rubber panties over your dipaer and a rubber slip under your skirt or dress Link to comment
Repaid1
I too run Avast and Malwarebytes pro. Never had a problem....even with diaper porn sites Link to comment
SoakedinTexas
Thanks Repaid I may try the rollback first see if that helps. Good idea. Link to comment
