  1. There are currently studies being undertaken on transsexuals which may point to a difference in a brain structure known as the Bed nucleus of Stria Terminalis (BSTc), which would indicate that the brain is sexually differentiated more similar to the brain functions shown by the gender that they identify with most.
  2. Without wishing to bog this whole thing down with semantics, I have to say, I'm never really that sure where people are coming from when they talk about transsexualism being a 'state of mind.' I'm not concerning myself with other aspects of gender variance, because then the debate just becomes like trying to knit fog. I think it was Chibiusa, who said earlier in the debate about knowing from a very early age that things weren't right. I can absolutely identify with this.... ....And with that in mind, I feel I could no more call my transsexuality a 'state of mind' that I could watch a moth fly round a lightbulb and then put it down to the moths 'state of mind.' I was driven to the operating table by an all consuming need, that was primal in nature. That's not something that I could ever describe as a state of mind. If you're transsexual, you just know it, and that's really all there is to it. Unfortunately, I grew up before the the internet, and transsexuality was something that was hardly discussed or known about. So although I knew I was trans, I didn't have a label to pin on myself or have the faintest idea what to do about it. Had things been different, then I certainly would have transitioned at an earlier age. But that's ancient history now. If you know you're transsexual, my advice would always be to find a suitably experienced councillor, and if you're still relatively young, get on hormone blockers ASAP!!! That way, if you decide to go ahead you'll effect a much better transition. And if not, no worries, the hormone blockers won't do any lasting damage.
  3. Smooth as a baby for me. It feels so nice and sexy, and I can feel my nappy more.
  4. I love the feeling of a soaking wet nappy, and I like pooping in it too. But I hate the clean up so much that I only poo in my nappy once or twice a week. Mmmm, feels sooooo good tho.
  5. Thanks for the welcome folks. Last week when I found all the DL/AB's on Myspace I spent about two days just crying with relief and joy, and I was completely unable to sleep. It's been a very emotional few days for me, and I feel that having found this forum, it's just gotten even better. nappyloon, you're absolutely right in what you say. It's that kind of mantra that got me through my sex reassignment in one piece. The only difference for me back then, was that unlike the isolation I felt about wearing diapers, I knew all along that I wasn't the only transsexual. But hey, I'm not going to dwell on stuff like that. Things usually fall into place in the end, and I'm here now. Thanks again guys. xx
  6. I don't own a car, so I have to walk or cycle everywhere. If I'm walking into town I always wear a diaper, I just feel incomplete without one. If I'm cycling though, wearing diapers doesn't really work. The pedaling action tends to wear through and rip the lining of the diaper. Needless to say, I prefer to walk.
  7. Hiya! I'm in the north west (Lancaster). I'd love to chat with some other folk. Feel free to pm me.
  8. Hi folks, I'm a post operative transwoman, and DL. I had full SRS about 12 years ago. Although I've been wearing diapers for many years, I've only recently discovered there's a whole DL/AB community. I had absolutely no idea, and felt very ashamed and lonely. So I'm sure you can imagine, I'm very happy to be here, and look forward to getting to know you all. I'm especially heartened to see there are a few transgendered folk here too. Sammi. x
