johnjohn1867
Dr. Phill goes on Jimmy Kimmel and talks about his guests he regrets having on his show the most. He cites the episode of a person wanting to be a dog and the episode with Baby Brett. Link to comment
erevu
He's an entertainer. Entertainers don't care about the truth. They care about entertaining people for money. Anyone who goes on shows like that are simply putting themselves up to be made fun of by the general public. There will be no "understanding" or "enlightenment" in the offing. PS: and I guarantee he does not regret it. Those type of shows put him on the map. They made him money. He does not regret it at all. He can't seriously believe that he's a professional doctor. No professional doctor has a Jerry Springeresque TV show. Link to comment
WBDaddy
Yeah, that was completely a setup for the cheap joke. Link to comment

Dirty Diaper/Maxipad Lover
Dr Phil = Ass Hat I couldn't agree more. Even when David Letterman (who I usually like,) has him on I normally have to speed through the interview if I don't want to shout at the TV like a crazy person. Link to comment
AwakenEvil
My comments were directed at Dr Phil in general, lol. Link to comment
WBDaddy
The problem is when people go on tv they think they are moving our community forward but in his case he made us all look like weird self centered kinksters. If he went on without all his ab kink and just said. This is our community. This is what we stand for in general and this is what we are not and answered questions honestly I may have thought differently but sadly he went on TV and looked like a weird creepy person drsging is beautiful girlfriend through the mud. 1 Link to comment
spark
Irrespective of the article on Wikipedia, is there any independent evidence that Phil McGraw ever actually was licensed? Link to comment
willnotwill
Amusingly Dr. Phil has a handful of real psychologists who advise him on the upcoming shows. Link to comment
BabyChris121675
Brett's appearance on Dr. Phil is one reason why I greatly dislike him- one of my friends who knows I am AB saw it and it led to a lot of questions and talk between myself and her. Link to comment
DLdapper
There is a reason I don't watch TV. It's about as fake and unrealistic as you can get. Heck even the kinkiest porn is more down to earth than most of the public tv shows out there. Link to comment
kellysbaby
I remember the Donahue episode! I was probably 9 or 10 and I was mesmerized! That was the first time I didn't feel normal but knew I wasn't alone at the same time. Agreed. DPF, for all their warts, made a much better showing on Donahue back in the day. Virtually everyone that has made appearances since then have done nothing to improve the image other than systematically desensitize the public. Link to comment
Crinklebritches
Irrespective of the article on Wikipedia, is there any independent evidence that Phil McGraw ever actually was licensed? Long before 2006 such questions were routinely asked, as they have been about many radio/TV medical/mental health experts. I did a search using a well-respected research firm used by attorneys to find such information. Funny thing is Phil McGraw does not show up as being licensed in the USA or Canada even before 2006. Think back to 1992. Remember the mental health "expert" on CNN called Robert Butterworth? He had extreme opinions of virtually every topic, nearly always contrary to the consensus of each specialty. Eventually a committee of the APA exposed Butterworth as a fraud, lacking even an under grad degree. So, if people watch such shows for entertainment, do try to retain some common sense. That's awesome. I have often wondered if he had any real practice. Link to comment
