  1. Yeah I am gonna go the Unemployment Benefits route since my Employer has an official layoff for 6 weeks and has it posted when work is gonna resume again It's just gonna suck having less $ each week for 6 weeks; and I tried to sell cards to get some extra money but that failed just because what i have to sell isnt exactly cheap cards, they are for a relatively new TCG, and everyone that asked me about them to possibly buy them seems to want examples that will grade good (as in 9-10 PSA or BGS because that could essentially raise the price of the cards by 300+%)
  2. No I dont and besides having less money it will probably be good as I will be less stressed out about work related problems
  3. Starting after Thanksgiving I'm gonna be unemployed for 6 weeks Ain't life fantastic? One bad things after another, for months on end
  4. My main problem isn't whatever debt I owe to some debt collectors based off of some debt I owe some company Its household bills, primarily taxes I'm not too far from being caught up, and the trading card hobby was never meant to be a "for profit" thing, but I tried too hard to sell "bulk" cards and people assumed I knew the value and purposely asked too much (which was a horribly wrong assumption, I just didnt have time to add in hours extra to find extra prices on sets of 90 cards, times 4 cards each to make a set, and calculate that all out) I have moved on from.Bulk Sales, next time I will throw them in with more expensive cards, give them away, or even throw them in the garbage before I risk attempting sales for a small "profit" (even though it would have never been profit anyways) Which leads to people assuming I am terribly unfair and some people refuse to buy from me Oh well, I dont need a pool of 8000 buyers anyways, I only need a few to buy my extras, even if it's at a rate they can make profits at (the profit margin would likely only be 10-20% anyways)
  5. Pretty vague, but I get it I had a credit card once, not doing that again because i had been ripped off by a fraudulent scam and the CC company did nothing to help me and expected me to pay a hefty bill Prior to that I was keeping on track with it and was never late enough to have to pay interest on it That's where scaling back on my card hobby comes in, sure I would love to buy a full case and not to have to buy extras later on But I realize that's not realistic, so I am gonna have to scale it back to where I used to be at and just slowly fill in the blanks whenever I have a little spare money to spend
  6. It's been difficult trying to be more financially responsible the last couple of months (a chain reaction of Terrible ever since that whole PayPal thing) putting off buying anything I wanted until coming out ahead of my bills I'm still not quite where I would like to be, but I'm getting there and for me the biggest thing I think I can do is minimize my risks to not end up in that kind of situation with PayPal again Unfortunately since every attempt I have made to try to break away from using them has failed because nobody seems to want to risk using anything else, I cant just say "no PayPal" unless I want to make no sales when I get back into my card hobby So that means limiting transactions and selling for a Smaller % to hopefully get 1 or 2 bigger buyers, rather than a multitude of smaller buyers That also means I am not gonna sell the lower priced cards, I will probably just bundle them into deals with the higher priced cards, get the deals done with and move on with 0 lingering inventory (whatever someone does with those extra cards I don't care, if they choose to sell them and risk getting screwed over, that's on them) I didn't mind having more customers and to start seeing sales happen with little resistance and to see "trusted" being commented instead of having to relist things many times over and hope someone saw what they wanted/needed and decided to buy from me I just neither have the money to make big orders that are necessary to have many customers, nor am I so willing to put myself at a great risk; where i am sure somebody is gonna decide they didn't get as much as they should and decide to abuse "buyer protection" to get more than they paid for. Anyways, any general tips for being more financially responsible?
  7. Just this morning a short while ago, gotta make sure my diapers are well used (which goes for #1 and 2) as I dont wanna waste good diapers
  8. I was alright with PayPal until recently Yeah I have had problems with them before; but never this bad 1st holding back money from reaching my bank account (no reason given, but okay, would have originally just had to wait 72 hours), and then they didn't wanna do anything about the bogus dispute, so ultimately they forced a return on me, and once the package got back to me matching what it was supposed to be, I had to give a full refund Because of that BS i lost triple the profit I actually stood to make on the dispute
  9. I am already set up for CashApp, and I'm sure there are plenty other alternatives to PayPal I just think its gonna be hard because I just started to gain "Trusted Seller" status before PayPal screwed me over and maybe people will not wanna buy if I dont take PayPal
  10. I am trying to decide if I wanna get back to selling trading cards in the future, since it is inevitable that I will have extras I have no need for Problem is it will probably be hard since going forward i would no longer take PayPal after the nightmare they put me in for weeks (see my last topic for more details) I am pretty good at it once u make sales; though the problem is something doing/saying something that runs people the wrong way has earned me some enemies I see those people as a lost cause; they are decidedly against me and think I am a horrible person who wants too much for my own stuff and wants everything I want from others for nothing Mind you it's all lies; but they think that way of me and there are plenty of other potential customers; including a few that are repeat customers (like I said I am good at the post sale part, once a deal is made and the cards are paid for) so I dont need those Haters
  11. I definitely will Its frustrating they give all the power to the buyer All that matters is their eyes is the seller stood to make money above what the shipping cost was, and that the customer says he didn't get the full amount of what he paid for And then they don't wanna make things easier with a partial refund matching what was actually claimed to have been missing (say since the customer claims 1/8th was missing, give him 1/8th of the $50) or maybe to give a partial refund to match the amount of profit I stood to make If it was an option i would have let them give the buyer the 17.20 and then he could keep what he already has and the situation could be done with Since no matter what i am losing. I tried to fight, plead my case, and bring forth evidence, and none of that matters or did anything in my favor At best i can get back 3000 cards that are incredibly hard to sell, for a small amount of profit if anything But given what got me into the situation I would just give them away or toss them out straight in the garbage, they just aren't worth the trouble
  12. It normally doesn't, but given how bad it has been lately over 1 buyer, over a reasonably small transaction with a small amount of profit I am considering not using PayPal again for anything And moving on from selling (trading) cards as well The whole experience is making me seriously question if I ever want to even risk being put back into the same situation ever again I just started making real headway to show people in this FaceBook group for the cards that I am "the real deal" I dont deceive people, I dont run, I dont hide, I dont lie They get what they pay for, usually for a cheaper price than from anyone else (roughly speaking in the FaceBook group sales are always a certain amount below market price, but sale price is usually 15-25% or more below market price) on brand new cards "business model" is buy whatever amount of booster Packs/boxes I can afford, open packs (to see what I get), sell the cards that are actually worth selling (focusing on cards usually worth lets say $5-10+ each), use that money to reinvest and buy the cards I dont pull from packs to try to get a complete, or close to complete collection, it's not about profits, it's about minimizing losses in a hobby I (used to) enjoy I have had numerous deals larger than the disputed $50 go 100% smoothly with no claims of me ripping off the customer (one sale was for almost 10 times the disputed amount) But they only care about things on a case by case basis and they care about the perspective of the buyer If you sell a bundle of 8 (of anything) and the buyer says "he only sent me 7" PayPal sides with them and you are expected to send the 8th item, even if its actually the 9th item and the dispute was bogus and literally an attempt to extort me to send them more stuff for free. My problem is I was already barely making anything and if I did send the guy the extra cards my profit margin would probably drop to $2 And I initially was gonna send him the extra cards for free, but since I didn't really have extra money I wasnt gonna be able to do it soon Hence why the dispute got opened, buyer didnt wanna wait any longer for free cards that he didnt even wanna pay shipping cost on
  13. Well, to make a long story short after a set of cards came out and I had bought what I could afford and sold a fair amount of my extras PayPal decided to flag a large amount of the $ I was gonna make from the sales I figured it was going slow and would land soon Well days later it still hadn't landed, i contacted them and found out for whatever reason they had flagged the transaction and were supposed to let go of my money and release it to my bank Before that could happen a bogus dispute got filed against me, which is holding back the amount from landing for an even longer amount of time because the dispute has to be settled I have been arguing with PayPal for days, I have submitted plenty of evidence, told them why it was bogus and why they should rule in my favor They still refuse to settle the dispute and give me my money So my PayPal account is messed up, therefore unusable, and they literally stole money from me This has led to a huge amount of stress and I am crashing My mood is ruined, I no longer want to do anything with a hobby I once enjoyed, and I cant do anything but wait and hope they see fit to rule in my favor Which doesnt seem to be happening They are convinced because the buyer says I left out part of the package that that must be the case Because nobody lies I guess? All i know is i am sick and tired of being painted as a bad guy, its ruined me financially, emotionally, and physically and I am not even gonna participate in a hobby I once enjoyed because where it once brought happiness All it brings now is misery and stress
  14. I dont know exactly how getting stuff held works, but I think it depends on the mail carrier that is being used if they offer that service and what locations will hold a package. I have never had to use it because I just order from ABUniverse on Wednesday night or Thursday morning, and then my Case of Diapers comes in on a Saturday basically every time That works for me because I know my Mom is always out of town on Weekends; not really an option if you dont get left home alone, or dont reliably know when you will be left home alone. I know theres gotta be a bunch of people here that get stuff delivered to a location to be held
  15. In a store it would be good to avoid people that know you, but otherwise it's not hard; just go in, browse, pick something out and buy it. Nothing is as good as buying Online though You get bigger selection and way better Adult Diapers than local stores will have; unless you have an ABDL Store in your area (there are not a lot, but some bigger cities have them) Good Diapers are expensive, but worth it There are 2 methods for online 1. just order and have it delivered right to you; this can be a risk depending on who you live with - but I usually time my orders to arrive when less people are at home (the main thing for me is to get stuff delivered on the weekend because that's when my Mom is out of the house) so I dont get asked about it because it's not like I like to show off my Diapers or Talk about them. 2. Order and have it delivered to a place that will hold the delivery for you to pick it up later 2.5 if you want you can get a prepaid debit card, load it with cash and use that to buy things online; that way if you share an account with someone they dont have to question big purchase amounts as they wont see them
