Letter To My Future Husband

Recommended Posts

The text is a little skewed, as I did copy and paste this from my Google Docs. The number one reason why I'm posting this here is because, well, our future partners are kind of a *big deal*, and I'd want my voice to be heard. I'd hope to inspire people to consider what they're looking for in a partner, and maybe craft a letter of their own someday. Enjoy.

No on has posted here in months.. I feel weird posting now, but I've been inspired.

Dear Future Husband,

You probably already know this (you are after all my future husband), but I'm awesome. If we actually get married, that means you're more awesome, since you defied most people's expectation of me being a crazy cat lady. I have to tell you, I'm not perfect. I can be moody, irritable, and a little over dramatic sometimes. Sometimes, the smoke detector sings with me when I cook, most of the time we will end up with "new recipes" because I forgot to buy something at the store. I'm really clumsy, I'll trip over my own feet if I'm not paying close enough attention. There wil be days when I have no idea what I'm feeling, and just want you to hug me and tell me everything will be ok. That being said, I won't ever expect you to be perfect either. I hope you can tell me how irritated you are with your ass-kissing co-worker, how upset you are about the fat cat at your mother's house finally passing away. I can only plead with whatever deity there is, that you would come to me about your troubles and insecurities. That's what I'm there for. I sure as hell expect you to hold me when I cry, and can only pray that you would let me do the same for you. Yeah, I said it. I will hold you when you cry. Men are expected to be these empty, gleaming, perfect suits of armor, but I just expect you to be human. Show your entire range of emotions, not just pissed off and horny. If you're really going to be my husband, then I know you will cry when you see me down the aisle, and you will laugh when I trip down that same aisle, and that's ok. I'll laugh and cry too. Lets face it future husband, if are anything like I think you might be, there will never be a dull moment between us.

With love,

Me.
