  1. What i dont understand is why a larger catheter is not used post surgery, and leaved in until everything is healed around it? I guess everything is not healed properly before after 6 months. If I ever decide the same path, I would have requested that, and lived with whatever pain and inconvenience it made.
  2. Could the distanse between the two beads be too short, making pinch of the spinchter force the stent back into yhe bladder?
  3. I decided to go with a catheter. Now one mention anything about it before the surgery, and I woke up with a bag connected. The bag was removed from the valve before I left the hospital. Had to go back to the hospital today, cause I felt I didn't feel any urge to pee at all last night, but even I opened the catheter I voided about 1 liter of urine. They requested me to wear leg bag to ensure drainage of the bladder to avoid kidney damage. I also hook up to a night bag at night. As urine retention is quite common after a surgery like I had, I was requested to wear it for a week. I will reinsert the stent after that.
  4. Thanks for the advice. I think will go for a pull-up, as I'm diagnosed with an overaktiv bladder.
  5. I will have a small back surgery next week. This will be a day surgery. For my examination before this surgery I wore the stent and pull-ups covered by a clear plastic pant. What do you guys suggest I wear for the surgery, it will be general anesthesia. Should I remove the stent, and use diapers, or condom catheter? Should I insert a catheter? Suggestions are appreciated.
  6. Has anyone ever investigated the possibility to have a external urethral sphincter dilation performed? An alternative to sphincterectomy.
  7. The stent is made of titanium and is very durable and lightweight. It can be removed by inserting the rod into the draining hole, pulling it carefully out. This makes it more or less permanent, not easy removable. It could easily be used for years without getting calcified. I've removed it for cleaning frequently.
  8. It is possible to make stent that is solid and that could be used permanent without retrieval line my stent is made with anchor beads in each end with a diameter of 13 mm. This of course means you will have to dilate your urethra using sounds to manage this size also troug your meatus. This took me a lot of effort, tears, blood and pain. Once done, it's possible to pass the titan stent in and out. The stent sits stable due to the beads and don't have any chance of migrating into the bladder. See photoset for insertion.
  9. Hi Ferix. Read your story from start to end, and I totally understand your desire. As a stent user since 2010, I believe that the fulfillment an incontinent life gives us is so important to our mental health, that this can not be treated or reversed. Without my good working titan stent, I would definitely walked the same path. Wish you all the luck on your way to get help with your surgery and hopefully a good and successful incontinent life. Keep us updated on your progress.
  10. Anyone of you concerned about smell? I always think about that, and do think godd fitting plastic pants helps. Otherwise I wear my diapers with pride, but wear clothes that makes me look "normal" and alway wear long tshirts tucked inside of my pants to avoid diaper peeking.
  11. You could also try to get hold of Hiprex. This will acidify your urine, killing unwanted germs causing UTIs
  12. Did the procedure affect your ability to get an erection?
  13. Thanks for friends request.

  14. Nice pics you posted. Are you still keeping the stent in?

Must be about 9 months now since you started to use full time. How's it going?

  15. I do ride the bike quite often for exercise, and never use diapers. Always let the pee flow freely. No one has ever commented.
