spark Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 I know we've had lots of discussions about people going on television and looking like complete idiots, and I watched something on television last night that has nothing to do with diapers (hence why it's posted here), but I felt was
gah!ghost Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 I don't understand it myself, but I have always been the guy who wants to be ignored as much as possible. I do not like attention.
DailyDi Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Oh don't you be hating on Amy, she is perfect! [A good delusion goes a long way]
rusty pins Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 On the plus side, maybe their business will fail now!
square_duck Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 It keeps going because some people respond to any type of attention, even negative attention is better than none or being ignored. I guess these "people' feel that any kindof publicity is better for their so called 'business' then nothing. It's sad really to se such things because these are sad people. If they had passion and love for what they do, then the story would be compleatly different. They are only in it for the 'money' and attention / publicity and noting more...that's why the service and attitude is so bad. I didn't see the program as I refuse to watch most commercial TV anymore as it,s mostly garbage, and not worth my time. This program is a prime example as to WHY I gave up watching the boob tube so long ago 1

underwhere Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 I've been on TV before. A few years ago, I was interviewed for an article which aired on CNN (nothing related to AB/DL), and after that, I was interviewed for another show, but my contribution for that show was never aired. Having watched that show, it was clear to me that the slant they were going for was different from the personal criteria I presented. (In fact, I didn't actually fit the designated criteria for what they were looking to air. I doubt they knew that at the time they had come out to film me.) I commend CNN for doing a wonderful job with their report. They got the essential details very well. One can only fit so much into a particular segment, and while they oversimplified a point or two, I really couldn't otherwise complain. I was just recently interviewed by a Japanese television crew for inclusion on a very popular once per quarter airing of a television special which features various different kinds of medical and psychological conditions. The show aired in Japan so I haven't actually seen it, but I have been contacted by a few viewers who did. I do agree that one must be very very careful when talking to the media in any medium. I have turned down requests to be filmed because I did not trust the source or slant which I expected to be portrayed. On the whole, I have been very pleased with how the productions I have taken part in have turned out.
