The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

I just saw the opening night midnight showing of the new Hobbit movie. I was wondering if anybody else here was excited abou seeing this, and the two movies to follow.

I'm really looking forward to seeing these movies. The Lord of the Rings trilogy is one of my favorites and I expect the Hobbit trilogy will be up there as well

Loved the film. Can't wait for the other two films to come out. Would recommend anyone to go see it.

Seriously can't beleave they have split the book into three films!!! Talking about raping it for all the money it's worth.

Have to be honest, I have seen the film and was rather bored after about 5 mins, and after an hour just wanted them to hurry up and get there.

I can, Digime. We're getting parts that were mentioned in The Lord of The Rings appendices, but occurred at the same time as the events in The Hobbit. We're seeing the events that Gandalf was involved in when he was not with the Dwarves and Bilbo. Also, what takes only a short time to read might take a while to act out.

Read the whole series many times over when I was in school. Now I have seen this with my kids, and it is the best of the series (so far).
