Guilty Tv

So, fess up... What terrible shows do you love?

I like to study people so I secretly love Primetime's WhatWould You Do. I know it should really be called "Primetime screws with people and claims it's news" but I like to see how people react and wonder how I would have.

That's the only show I consider "trash tv" that I watch, though I am a recovering Jerry Springer addict... I'm three years clean without a Jerry, Jerry, Jerry chant.

As far as daytime tv I have Judge Judy on auto-record daily. Not so much for the litigants, but for Judy's wit and ability to humiliate even the most delusional dbags.

Sure, I understand, and I used to read PLAYBOY in the 1960's for the intellectual articles. sorry just could NOT resist:)

They actually DID have such, in 1964 Alvin Toffler (FUTURE SHOCK: huge 1973 bestseller) did an interview with Ayn Rand that got pretty cerebral and in 1969 Isaac Asimov wrote an article about having "so help me God" in the courtroom oath. Those are just two that I rember

You mean guilty as in stupid right?

Well, I saw the Demolition Man not too long ago (You know, the one with Sylvester Stallone and Wesley Snipes).

Hmmm, guilty = bad...not really sure. I pride myself on having a bit of taste...however, if everybody is just listing their favorite shows, mine include Family Guy, The Cleveland Show, American Dad, The Venture Brothers, Supernatural and many others...also, me and the fiance usually watch some ID (Investigation Discovery) before going to bed each night. Love that stuff.

Now the Kardashians is TRASH but then the title is "Guilty TV...", not "Train-wreck TV" Also upcoming train wrecks, Chumly on Pawn Stars and some of those self-absorbed frootloops that show up on Ice Road Truckers. Tommy on Swamp People should get his hiney[i am a little lady]-whuppin' soon for being such a godlbricking, screw-up PoS

Well, the whoe attraction of the dysfunctional is the train wreck that you know is coming. You would be surprised at how many men were watching ONE LIFE TO LIVE in the 1979-82 period to see Tina Lord carry out her plots and then get her come-uppance and when Andrea Evens left, the character did not generate as much interest

Not to hijack the thread, but look up "Jan Merlin". He is quoted as saying that he played more characters who go shot than anyone else. He practially patented the sneer. I was at a convention with him and we did a sort of celebration of villainy. He was so identified as a bad guy that you would not believe what his first acting job was

Chumly, you mean the one who is stupid enough to try out all the antique firearms?

My guilty pleasure tv would have to be 1000 ways to die. Some of the things that have been"reenacted" are hilarious, others you end up with the feeling that the world is just a little bit better.
