WBDaddy Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 "It shouldn't have to be that way" No, you're right. It should be that everyone on the internet is sweet and nice to each other and there are flowers and unicorns and rainbows (ON FIRE!) everywhere and we all hold virtual hands and sing Kum-By-Yah. Except - it's the internet, so trolls will be trolls, and ya just kinda gotta suck it up and deal with it, or else don't bother with the chatroom. (I chose the latter a long time ago).
curiositykilledthecat Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 well on diaperchat there is a bot always in the room that if pmed without asking auto bans for 30 minutes. Writing a script like that helps remove the pervs
LilFozzyJ5 Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 I can see a single flaw in that plan... there are several people on here i chat to regularly, they have an open invite to pm me and likewise i can pm them... so with a bot like that we would get banned? doesnt seem to foster friendships, which i thought this was all about
Lanthey Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 I've been negged! Waaaaah! Boo Hoo Ask me if I care And if Sarah hit the same button again, she'd be reneging One more thing I should have added to my earlier reply: Please try to play nicely in the Chatroom While there are no specific rules about that, if the teacher sees you misbehaving she'll send you to the Principal's office He's a meanie who will put you in time out, and if you're really bad, you might get a spanking too Bettypooh See that Sarah!! You have to be nice!!!! >_<
lilJester Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 okay couple things. Not sure if its jsut me or not but when someone pm's me, yeah the window pops up but i wont be able to see the room again until i close the PM which i find annoying. But also, i want an ignore option. If there is someone in the chat that is jsut being really annoying, gross, or obscene, instead of sitting there and seeing them on the screen i would prefer to be able to block them....not just from PMing me, but from seeing what they post in the room.

So other person to person pm's are unaffected. Used to run a bot like this in the OLD undernet diapers channel. Rotate the name every few days and we would catch quite a few creeps that way. Sigh.. I soo miss talking through the mommy bot on #DPF. I used to come up with some interesting stories. The bots could also pick up keywords and apply actions from " mommy change me" pulling up a diaper changing script to "mommy %name pm's me again, make him/her stop" and mommy would then kick the offending person from the channel. we kept actual bans to moderators and admins, and even the I think we had somewhere between 60 -100 different ip's o the ban list.
Lanthey Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 To be honest people pming me without permission doest really bother me.... I tell them off close the window and press the ignore private messages button. Huzz An ignore button would be epic. There's this person called Sarah who keeps coming on to me and it''s REALLY freaking me out.....

Lanthey Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 hey baby, is that a diaper in your pants or are you just happy to see me?? Will the abuse never end!!!!!!!
sarah_ab Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Will the abuse never end!!!!!!! nope never, not until you give in to my smooth charm!
ItchyTasty Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 To be honest asking to PM someone in chat is kind of stupid, as you don't ask to send someone a private message on the forum, if you get my point. If you don't like what someone is saying, hit ignore or block them, simple. 2
lilJester Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 i've been repeatedly pm'd by a user. I always state that i do NOT want any Pm's, yet hey every time they log in, i get one from them! what a shock...they're a moron. Now, aside form just being able to ignore a PM from a user, how about a general IGNORE button...So that when they PM me without asking, I can jsut flat out ignore them COMPLETELY!
curiositykilledthecat Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 A system used quite well in IRC, a la diaperchat is that there is a bot mod in the chatroom at all times. You leave the name as something that would be an obvious lure for the creepers and if they private message the bot it's an auto ban for thrity minutes.

lilJester Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 two things. and IGNORE function that not only blocks unwanted PM's from one person, but also ignores their comments in the main room. The other, DEDICATED CHAT MOD
DLBob717 Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 WOW! What a bunch of crybabies. The few times I enter the chat room, it might be the only available time I can chat privately with someone. Therefore, I will PM them as my thought probably has nothing to do with the current chat discussion. Perhaps the accept/deny function would be ideal. I am grateful to all of you who have accepted my private discussion, without argument. 1
Dirty Diaper/Maxipad Lover Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 I'm glad that I don't use (or at the very least, haven't used) the chatroom. Given that it's apparently a rule here that someone has to ask to PM you before they actually can PM you, I'd follow it, but the simple fact is that it shouldn't be a rule in the first place. People shouldn't have to ask permission to PM someone--it defeats the entire point of sending a PRIVATE message! If someone's abusing the PM feature, it shouldn't be difficult to report the abuse to a mod/admin to have the abuse dealt with. The second to last thing I want when I go to chat with someone is to have to ask them if I can send them a PM. The absolute last thing I want is to have someone ask me if they can send me a PM. "YES," you can send me a PM! Just do it and don't ask me if I want to be PMed--if I'm busy, I'll let you know once you PM me. Now I get it, there will inevitably be one or two dolts who don't play by the rules, and who will abuse the PM feature to harass/nag people in a chatroom. If that happens why not report the situation to a mod/admin, and provide text from the PM while doing so? Do members have individual block lists in the chat? If they do, members should be using them, rather than asking people to ask permission to send a PM. Truth be told, an accept/deny prompt would be ideal, and would drastically cut down on those who would wreak havoc in the chat. As someone whose acted in the capacity of a member, mod, and admin in the past, I've seen my fair share of rules before. With having seen my fair share of rules before, I've also seen my fair share of stupid rules before, but out of all the stupid rules that I've seen, this is by far the stupidest. I'd support adding an "accept/deny" prompt similar to those used by instant messaging software, provided that the "ask to send a PM" rule disappears in the process. Asking someone to send a PM is "backwards," and that's being generous.

(the polite one) or "Can I change ur poopy diaper" (normal) No one listens to the ask to pm rule, and they deserve a kick from chat. I hereby create a petition. Everyone who PM's without asking is to be Castrated. Most just want to get off PM'ing random girls. Seems fair to me!
wetman Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 ... I hereby create a petition. Everyone who PM's without asking is to be Castrated. Most just want to get off PM'ing random girls. Seems fair to me! If that goes through, you will get no end of PMs from Goerge. But apart from poking fun, I'd half agree. I don't see the big harm in a PM. But if you then click the user away, that is, ignore him or her, they should get the message and leave you alone. Asking before PMing is, in my opinion, only necessary if people are creepy dickheads.
