CBD Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 I've reposted an excerpt from this brave young woman's interview here.
BBB Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Uhm. No. The reason you never see positive AB stories in the news is the same reason you never see positive BDSM articles in the news.... Freaks sell papers, and anyone who does something good, is doing it out of goodness in thief heart... Not to further the AB agenda. If they do it to further their fetishist agenda, then they are put in the freaks category again....

Actually, the BDSM community is very good about PR, as well as going out of their way to foster safe, sane and consensual practices within the community. LuvsGurl Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 What? Your link is a posting on a blog, not a news story. 1
CBD Posted January 28, 2011 Author Posted January 28, 2011 None of those are "news stories" The Folsom Street fair is a major event. It's not front page news, but it does end up in the papers. The other sites I linked as examples of what anyone who investigates BDSM will find in a cursory Google search. One thing that is especially good about that last link (the statement of purpose) is that not only do they encourage responsible practices in the community, but they are totally non-profit. Any excess money they make from events goes to AIDS research and battered women's shelters. Folsom does the same kind of thing. I'm just pointing out that good PR is not impossible.
CBD Posted January 28, 2011 Author Posted January 28, 2011 What? Your link is a posting on a blog, not a news story. It's a joke. I thought the photoshopped pic was silly enough that it would go without saying.
TheMagicDragon Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 I enjoyed it! Humor lightens the mood - so thank you.
Yvhuce Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 This should be moved to a section of the forums where it would be better appreciated. The pic comes from a booze commercial, with a diaper photoshopped in.
LuvsGurl Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 It's a joke. I thought the photoshopped pic was silly enough that it would go without saying. Then please don't try to represent it as some sort of legitimate "news".
d_drew12 Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 OMG, people don't have a sense of humor around here!!! I thought it was pretty good. Pretty obvious it was meant to be funny!
P.Longabaugh81 Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 It's clearly intended to be funny, people... Nice job. I liked the story, too.
Yvhuce Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 OMG, people don't have a sense of humor around here!!! I thought it was pretty good. Pretty obvious it was meant to be funny! It's clearly intended to be funny, people... Perhaps, but it has no place in the "News" section of the forums. It would probly get a lot of laughs somewhere like the "Scoop the Poop". I suggest re-posting it there, where it would would be better appreciated. This section of the forums is for nonfiction stuff.
