Herniated Disc And The Loss Of Bladder

Recommended Posts

Hello just wanted to find out if there is any one else out there that has the same prob i am having. i got injured at work and now i have a Herniated Disc and loss of bladder. so now i am in diapers 24/7. i have alway like diapers off and on. basic i used them for the fun of it, up till now i have never used 24/7 i was only use to wearing a few hours. now that i am wearing 24/7 its totally different. I use to get that rush when i went out in public, i guess it the fear of getting caught but now it nothing. even when i go to Doc. office i just get the question of how are you and any other problems like rash or any other irritations. the doc keep wanting to cath me and i am not in to that. I have been this way for the last three months now and i go see the surging next month.

Is there any one else that has the same prob or going threw the same thing, or loosing the thrill or rush of wearing now knowing you have to use them for medical reason instead of for fun?

Good luck with seeing the Surgeon, hope he can help you !

As for "losing the thrill" I must sadly agree with you that "having" to wear does rather take the excitement out if it to a certain degree-but I still get a bit of a thrill first thing in the morning when putting on a fresh Nappy.

Well Back in 1989 I had surgery for a herniated disk and now I have scar tissue in that disk space (L5S1) and it is trappin my nerves and causing me severe pain and leg problems  . Each and everytime I go to the VA DR (since Im a disabled veteran) for a checkup, he asks me if I am having any bladder probs. Hes thinkin Ill have bladder probs for sure eventually but we'll see. I have only tried a diaper once and that was ONLY for a halloween Costume ;) and will have to admit that I didnt like it all that much then so HAVING to wear for need does NOT sound appealing to me at all! However, if I do ever get to that point I have a lot of friends here that I can count on for support  . And so Do u, Mr Big. I am sure that youll find lots of friends here and if u need to talk, Im here to listen to u. *HUGS* and good LUCK with the surgeon!! Keep ur chin up Sweetie.

Take care.

huggles and kissies and lots of love,

I have been there. I was a AB from WAY back but in the early 90's I had a spinal injury to include H-Disc. I more or less went through the feelings your going through. It was starting to be a pain to have to diaper all day, and the thrill of being babied only helped somewhat. Over time the common place of daily diapering faded into routine and the AB feeling resumed. Both are going to be part of your life, hopefully the medical team can help you.

I fell into the same class as Mommy Curious. Except mine never returned to full control from the original condition I had. While I can make it to a bathroom on occation, it's best to be protected. Good Luck on your Medical side, I'm sure alot of advancements have been made. While I try not to knock them, count yourself lucky that your not going to the VA. I think the regular hospitals tend to treat you with alittle more care and understanding (That is if you have insurance :P ) Let us know of your progress in the weeks to come. Best of luck again.

Two years ago I was injured. I went to the doctor and was told I had two herniated discs and three or four discs are fused together in my lower lumbar region. They said I have progressed degenerative disc disease. I cant say I lost bladder control, but I do notice how little time I realize the need to go is. It also depends on the days too.

So don't feel alone! Cause there is lots of support here for you! Good luck wif da doctors ^_^ *huggles*

Hi, I have been through what your talking about and that was 18 yrs ago when I ruptured 2 discs in the L4 L5 region. I didn't start to have problems til I had surgery than I started losing bladder control and got sent to see all kinds of specialists who aftter lots of poking and prodding ended up couldn't help me.

I learned to live with it and started reinventing my life around my diapers. I've learned to relax and not fret the diaper changes and whatever else that got thrown my way. I'm married and have 5 kids youngest is 18 this year... After the first year I couldn't hide my problem so the kids became used to me needing my diapers. They adjusted just as I... My wife still changes me every day after she gets home from work and from then on while she is home. we try to let it be a game as much as possible for us. and it helps to keep me enjoying life without to much bothering me... When I go out I usually wear disposibles but at home when my wife gets home she quickly puts me back in my cloth ones. I still get a chance for my baby time in the bedroom and have grown to accept that as a great part of my life.

I won't ever get out of the 24/7 but I learned to accept it and enjoy the lifestyle and that makes those great feelings stay and the boredom to not become a major part. if you learn to enjoy what you have and don't fight with yourself over who else knows than your IE: "medical problem" can just be a fun time instead of becoming a drag on you.

Nothing for me ever beats that warm feeling when my wife reaches over in bed and pats my diapered butt... Doesn't mater what happens before or after that. As that warm fuzzy feeling just keeps coming out... Life is good!!!

Cerebellar Ataxia ( industrial chemical poisoning ), Herniated disc C5 C4 ( motrocycle accident ), Diabetes ( diabetic peripheral neuropathy ) = neurogenic bladder. I was devastated when I started to have bladder malfuntioning. I started out with condom catherters and leg bags. After tons of tubes coming disconnected and urine running in my shoes or down my legs. Cost me alot of money for ruined shoes!

I had no other choice but diapers. I wasn't to thrilled with the idea. I never was interested in diapers growing up, and thought only old people needed to wear diapers in nursing homes.

It was kind of thrilling at first, i guess it was the newnnes of having to wear diapers. Like everyone I went throught the paranoid going out in public syndrome, the guilt, etc.

I statred out with disposables and after so many leaks, i found out they make cloth diapers in adult sizes. Wow now I love it. I love plastic pants and cloth diapers. I don't have to worry about leaks during the day and night. I guess it brings back memories of my childhood, being loved and nurteuerd.

I dont play baby and I don't like to dress up in anything babyish.

Cloth diapers changed it all for me. I have come terms with my medical problems, and having to wear diapers. I even injoy doing my laundry and folding my nice and white clean cloth diapers.

So yea like you, or I should say the oposite of you, hating it then loving it. What i would maybe try is trying differnt diapers, get some new clothes, buy a diaper closet ( armoir ) to hold all your special clothes ( diapers ). Try some new things and see if that brings back the thrill, and the thought that you are special.

He usually cried at least once everyday, not because he was sad, but because the world was so beautiful and life was so short.
