Paige was a 3-year-old toddler. She was a happy little girl, and was always smiling. She often got into trouble though. After having a high fever one day when she was 18 months old, and her foster parents failed to get her medical treatment, she lost most of her hearing. People didn't really know that, because she'd been in and out of foster homes and her biological parent's home. Whenever her father would

Paige didn't hear all of what was being said. She heard the woman talking and turned to look at her. She nodded. If she was looking at someone, she could hear them so long as they didn't go too fast or whisper.

Paige nodded. She was a very trusting little girl. Being bounced around quite a bit from home to home, she was used to having to be attached to the person she was with, and easily went to anyone, even total strangers.

Paige nodded. She didn't really believe the fact that she might be there permenately. She'd been told that so many times, so she did really think too much of it. She looked around the room, trying to see the rest of the house as best she could without walking there.

Paige nodded. She had reached up for Jenny in the living room, but she did it again now. She put her thumb in her mouth and put her hand on Jenny's mouth. Not only was her hearing damaged, so was her eyesight. She could see enough to get

Paige nodded. She didn't really know what she needed. In the car, she looked so small in the carssat, since it wasn't the right kind for a toddler. She stared out the window most of the ride, trying to see where they were going.

Paige didn't quite hear what Jenny said. She just giggled and looked at everything they passed. She reached out and tried to grab things from shelves a few times, wanting to see how they felt. She seemed oblivious to anything but her own world.

Paige scowled at Jenny. She understood what she said just didn't know why she said it. "I talk." She said softly. She could talk just fine, just she was shyer and a little quieter than most. She jammed her thumb in her mouth and looked around.

Paige looked around and pointed to a pink one that looked like a teddy bear, but also was a little scooter for toddlers, one they sit on and scoot around with their legs since the potty had wheels. "Dat one!" She announced proudly.

Paige looked at Jenny funny. She had seen her put pull-ups into the cart already, so she didn't see why she needed more. She pointed to the package in the cart and looked at Jenny. "What 'bout dose?"

Paige nods, suddenly understanding. She looked around, squinting to see what was in front of her. She pointed to a package of princess pull-ups and then looked to Jenny.

Paige blushes at the cashier's comment, looking down shyly. She didn't put up any fuss as she was wheeled to the bathroom. She looks up at Jenny and tries to tug her dress off, being uncomfortable in wet clothes.

Paige shakes her head. "Nuh uh." She said firmly. "Don't gotta go." She let herself be dressed and changed. Then once she's on the ground, she starts to wander, putting her arms out as she surveys the surrounding area, as if she can't see. Which she can't really. She could see blobs of blurry color, but not enough to get around.

Paige would rather be carried, but seemed she was fated to be carried and put in the cart. She looked around, seemingly in her own world and looking at nothing in particular. She reached her arm out as they walked out, resisting the urge to grab a soft toy she felt along the way.

Paige yanked her hand away when she was asked if she wanted the toy. She shook her head. She wanted it, but had had bad experiences with asking for things of grabbing them. She knew better, and didn't want to get in trouble. "No."
