What's Two More?

[Ishigreensa]

David frowned.

"Didn't you eat?" he asked her thinking they had chosen something for her to eat, but then realized that was when he found she had wet, and she had not actually eaten yet.

[Shy-Diapers]

"I picked up da hippo. She wasn't using it. He got mad and took it from my hand." Macy said sniffling.

She didn't know she was supposed to ask before picking up any of the toys around her. She wasn't even looking at it!

Carrie put the hippo back to her mouth and followed her brother. She didn't understand why he was constantly holding her hand. She could walk by herself. She didn't fight him though.

"I'll talk to David later," Mary promised Macy.

[Shy-Diapers]

Macy shook her head. "He coulda asked for it back." She mumbled.

[Ishigreensa]

David looked up at her.

"Macy, she's not whining about this time.

[Shy-Diapers]

Macy hesitantly reached for the toy and when she had it in her hands, she held it to her chest. She wasn't sure if it was gonna get taken away again. She hoped it wouldn't.

Mary smiled over at Carrie.

"Of course, honey."

She went and took her to the dining room to get her something to eat.

"Carrie," David said.

"David I don't think it makes much of a difference when you talk like that to her." Mary said from the kitchen. She found it odd that David spoke to her like somebody younger than Macy.

"She seems to understand when I talk normally." She pointed out.

He frowned over at his aunt.

"I was making sure she was paying attention.

[Shy-Diapers]

Mary shook her head. She hadn't seen David talk normally to his sister yet.

David left Macy to play and went to reading a book.

He really didn't know what to do with himself at the moment.

Carrie finished her soup and felt a lot better. She climbed off the table and handed Mary the bowl and spoon, unsure what to do with it now.

David looked over at Macy, but he didn't bother her.

He just kept reading.

Mary soon enough came in, and she bent down to see what Macy was doing.

"Hey, sweetie," she said not saying anything about the 'n' word just then.

Carrie dug through her backpack and grabbed her stuffed panda. She crawled onto the couch and yawned.

It had been a long two weeks at the foster home. She had started napping earlier, but was rudely awoken by her brother and then her aunt making her sore head hurt more.

Mary smiled.

"Yes, you can have diapey, baby," she said.

[Shy-Diapers]

Carrie poked her brother enough to get his full attention. "Sleep." She mumbled while holding her bear, something she only did when she wanted to go to bed or it was naptime.

Even though 9 was a bit old for regular naps, Carrie needed them. It was more likely she'd get enough sleep by having her nap in the day so at night it would be okay if she couldn't sleep for a while or woke up in the middle of the night which often was the case.

Mary just smiled at her thinking that baby steps needed here.

Macy, with her thumb in her mouth and her mother humming to her stood no chance. Halfway through the change she was asleep, not even in a fresh diaper yet. She was always feisty, but tuckered out quite easily.

[Ishigreensa]

"I'm sorry," he frowned.

[Shy-Diapers]

Carrie nodded. She wanted to wait for Mary. She didn't quite know who she was yet, but trusted her nonetheless. She knew she was gonna be with her and the man from earlier for a while and she was supposed to be good.

David didn't wait.

Carrie followed her aunt to the room. She'd never shared a room before the foster home. There were three sets of bunk beds in one room for all the girls. She didn't like being on the bottom bunk to a girl who constantly jumped on Carrie's to get up or down.

"What's wrong, honey?" Mary asked her.

[Shy-Diapers]

Carrie nodded. She looked down at her lap, not quite sure how to communicate what she wanted with this woman.

[Ishigreensa]

Mary came down behind her, and when she saw her struggling, she opened the bag and saw it had diapers and pajamas in it.

"Oh, is this what you wanted?" she asked.
