Ashivag nodded. She didn't care that she couldn't have her sheep with her, just that she was afraid it would be taken away from her.

Ralph washed her privates off good as he was afraid of an infection, but he also wash her butt and her thighs and tummy just above her privates to make sure she was clean anywhere where the pee would have caused the most trouble for her.

Ashivag just blinked at Ralph. She didn't remember ever being told to clean herself. She just dipped the washcloth in the tub water and then squeezed it and repeated the process. At nine years old she wasn't very independent, mostly because she was her parents whole world. They couldn't have kids, so she was a miracle baby. They hovered over her for everything, but she didn't mind.

Ralph came back and found her sitting on her bottom crying, and he shook his head.

"Honey, you can't be clean yet," he told her.

Ashivag shook her head. Once she was back in the water her bottom felt better. She never washed herself in the past. Was she supposed to have? She looked up at her uncle curiously. He seemed very nice, and already she had sort of grown attached. He did look a lot like her daddy.

Ralph could feel her relaxing into him bathing her, and he shook his head.

Ashivag could probably wash herself if she felt up to it, but she wasn't in the mindset to do that right now.

Ralph smiled at her and finally got her dressed.

"Now, honey, I know the wetting accident probably upset you, but I don't want you to worry about it too much.

Ashivag was happy about the fact that her uncle was so nice to her. She was afraid he was going to be mean and strict. But he was soft and caring.

Ralph eventually brought over some macaroni and cheese cooked in spaghetti sauce though it had no meat in it.

Ashivag shook her head right away. She turned away from her cousin and held the sheep closer to her chest. It still smelled like her parents, a mix of her mother's perfume and her father's after shave.

Ralph looked at her for a minute, and he then realized what she wanted.

Ashivag pointed to the gallon of milk in the fridge. She hoped thag was okay. She would've drank the milk earlier, but she had tuna, and tuna was meat. She looked up at Ralph, as if asking for permission.

Ralph was glad she was eating, and he got her some more food to eat.

"Of course it's okay to have some milk.

Ashivag shook her head. She smiled a little. She thought her uncle was kind of joking with her. She gladly drank her milk and cleared her plate a second time.

Tom smiled when he saw his cousin smiling.

Ashivag's smile completely went away when her cousin put a hand on her back. She tried to scoot her chair in forward, but was too small. She kept trying to get away from his hand, not even listening to him. It wasn't that she was scared of him or anything, just that he didn't really feel like family yet, and it felt wrong for him to be making physical contact with her.

Tom frowned and took his hand back.

"Sorry," he said sadly.

Avishag followed her cousin curiously. They didn't have a TV in their

Tom showed her some girly Disney Shows that he used to like when he was younger, but sort of outgrew when he realized they were girly or childish.

"Do you like princesses?" he asked her.

He brought over several princess movies.

"You choose.

Avishag shrugged. She liked the princess stories her parents used to read but she'd never seen any on a TV before.

Ralph bent down and picked the book up and looked at it.

He wasn't sure what he was looking at just yet.

Avishag looked up hopefully. It was a book of different prayers and also it included other important things such as the laws of kosher and other things like that. The book was really just a paperback, but the cover was beautiful to Avishag and she always loved it.

Ralph took the book and smiled at her.

"Let me look through this for a minute," he told her.

Avishag smiled. She thought her uncle might like to read it since he didn't understand how she did things. The book also contained common Jewish practices such as not touching a member of the opposite sex unless you're related.
