The Syrian girl with the oversized coat nodded enthusiastically. Jael liked the idea of spending more time in school among people her own age and given that she going to be behind the rest of her peers, the intense study of extra tutourage was probably necessary anyway.

"Of course you can have some ice cream," Jay said.

Her intolerance was an inconvenience but Jael certainly didn't desire the risk of pooping in her pants in such a busy and public place.

"Well, we have to pick you up some diapers at the drug store, and then we have to take you to school to get you registered even if you are not going to start for a week or so."

"And I also thought we'd eat out and then get our ice cream on the way home.

"i like the sound of all of it accept for that first part." she smiled as she joked. Jael knew Jay was goibg to be insistant on diapers plus she could think of no other way to guarantee she wouldn't ruin his futons and bedding stuffs.

"The doctors were very busy." Jael agreed, sourly thinking back to her expriences of the volenteer medical staff of the 'doctors without borders'

"Yes, that sounds about like what they would do to a place like that.

As she climbed into Jay's car, Jael reflected that she didn't think being asked to wear diapers made her feel any better about her medical condition but maybe a Japanese doctor would be able to find a solution.

Jael smiled and nodded at Jay's suggestion, it was exactly the kind of thing she was looking for. She thanked him as she took the money, which she studied for a moment because it was the first time she had been given Japanese money. It was little different from the notes she had grown up with which boasted industrial scenes, historic monuments and of course, the much loved or loathed president of thr Syrian Arab Republic.

Jael hurried off so she wouldn't be seen with the diapersbeing bought for her. Unable to read Japanese she shopped by pictures, meaning she bought one carton of orange juice and one of prune juice, mistaking the round purple graphic for a grape. Jael had been waiting immediately outside the shop. The juice cartons were in a bag, not because she had asked for one but simply because she hadn't understood the cashier's very fast Japanese and so she had simply nodded shyly in response go the question. As she climbed into the back of the car Jael wondered what Jay meant by 'more problems' as far as she was concerened she already had a great many of them and her 'accidents' didn't immediately spring to mind. She instead turned her attention to the current question.

"hmm, let's go home." she decided, not because she wasn't throughly enjoying the shopping trip but because she was aware she hadn't been to the bathroom for a while.

Jael smiled and nodded as she was let out of the car. She was excited to pick the flavour of her icecream treat bur when they came before the large freezer she found there was simply too much choice. She ece

She eventully settled on her own favourite, salted caramel but made sure to ask Jay to find it for her so that she couldn't make the same mistake as she did with the juice earlier.

As she browsed the icecream, she also hopped from foot to foot in a potty dance she was unaware of.

Jael could to little to hide her dissapointment, both at getting corrected again and at her favorite icecream flavour not being available. Her smile notably wavered but given that she wasn't entirely certain when she had last been given icecream was, caramel and vanilla was a more than acceptable substitute. She nodded vigorously in approval.

Jay smiled at the little girl as they waited, and he could see she was starting to squirm a bit, or he just noticed, and she had been squirming the entire time, he wasn't sure.

She felt humiliated at having been reminded about the bathroom like a potty training toddler but at the same time she had to acknowledge the growing pressure in her bladder and the concept that she might not be able to hold it all the way back to Jay's appartment.

She wanted to suggest she could simply take herself but remembered what Jay had told her earlier about wishing to escort her.
