Creepymouse
Lame. I'm glad they corrected their care once proven wrong. Sounds like you're used to dealing with medical pros, but most of us folks need to remember that they're NOT in charge - we're CUSTOMERS. If they're trying to push something unnecessary or obviously counterproductive, we have the right to say no. 1 Link to comment
smokey
As much as I love wearing a crinkly plastic backed disposable, realisticly, if I ever became incon, i would have to wear about 3 layers of cloth. i can easily fill a 32 oz Gatorade bottle. Think about that next time you drink a lemmonaide Gatorade. 2 Link to comment
Amyuser
I was in the Health jail in February and was extremely surprised at the quality care I got for a change, Nurses learned I guess from the days I don't remember that I needed to be really diapered because I too wet like crazy and between the 2 large bore IV'S I wet the whole bed linens gowns the whole ball of wax, so every 30 minutes they appeared and changed me because any longer than that and they would have to do the backstroke to get to the bed, not once did I ever need the call Bell and because they did not trust me to do it on my own they called in my room service ( I was addicted to a chicken dish, ate it 3 meals a day ) and since they new when they ordered, they were Johnny on the spot to check my glucose and give me my insulin, normaly I am a he'll raiser, I worked in the medical field so I know proper care and have never had a problem putting my foot up somebody's ass , my Doctor has lost an average of one nurse a year because I have gotten them fired for any number of stupidity in neglecting to care for somebody, no Bush has ever died from my beating around it. Do it right or don't do it at all, I'll warn the nurse twice ,if three is achieved I have them fired , I do the same with my Doctors , then again that's probably why all my specialists are in the city, the locals are lazy and cut corners and patients get hurt , good patients like me. I have crazy Medical problems but I will not let them jeopardize my life because they want to rush patients in and out and not listen to what they say. Anyways off my soap box my last visit was for a stroke and I got some off the best care I have ever had, they had to have changed me like fifty times , and once I was able to speak they even took my diapering advice and applied it, it really mattered to the Nurses and they were all young so not alot of diaper experience among them , before I left I gave them a master class that they really appreciated my acquired wisdom of nearly 25 years of diapers, do not ever be afraid to refuse something that you know is not an intervention that will help you or worse hurt you, you pay there salaries don't pay that tab with your life. Amyuser
I think that is a way that we keep from getting overwhelmed, learning not just to get by but to add some fun to it, exercise your individuality and of course embrace acceptance of ourselves and others, other than the diaper community can you think of a more diverse yet inter mingled community that values each other's position, other than IC, diaper users can be sexual , comfort, age players, furries, adult babies just an endless variety of people. And I have said many times ABDL'S are the people that taught me all things diaper 25 years ago, otherwise it was here is a script for diapers ,have a nice day make an appointment for a month on your way out, gee thanks Doc imagine if it was something Serious!! Other than calling your pants the bathroom, any chronic Medical problem can result in depression, self loathing, hating the world, tons of implications in everyday life, yet we learn to move on, deal with it and become more resilient and eventually love our diapers, if it doesn't kill us it makes us stronger.
