(Not So) Happy Addition (Private)

Spencer softly reached down rubbing her back.

"Heather!" Mary said. "Stop that. Those don't belong to you."

Spencer nodded.

Elizabeth nodded and gripped her trash bag of clothes and one porcelain doll. She held the dog tight as she chewed one of his ears. She hoped that this family would be nice to her and she wouldn't have to come back.

Spencer walked slowly so Elizabeth could stay close. Once they got to the car he put her into the car seat and bucked her in.

Elizabeth's lower lip quivered when the new toy was taken away from her. She fought the urge to bawl, she didn't want them thinking she was a baby. Even if she did have the occasional accident or two or ten. She silently reached for the stuffed dog as it was held out of her reach.

Heather nodded.

Elizabeth sniffled and held the dog close to her chest. Maybe this whole adoption thing wasn't a good idea after all. She'd just met the family and already she got the girl in trouble.

Spencer took Heather over to a grassy place.

Elizabeth held her dog right and chewed one its ears nervously. "My toy?" She asked quietly when Spencer got back in the car. She wanted to make sure it really was hers if Heather was trying to take it from her.

Elizabeth stayed silent for the whole car ride, even when she really had to go potty. It wasn't long after she realized she needed to go that her tights and car seat were soaked with pee. She was scared she'd be in trouble, so she tried not to cry in hopes no one would notice.

Spencer got in to start the drive home. He was in his own thoughs until he heard his wife.

Mary nodded and went to get Elizabeth out of her car seat, only to have the girl start sobbing and trying to pull away from her. "S-Spencer!" Elizabeth cried. She didn't trust Mary yet. She only trusted Spencer, since he was the one whom she met first. She had formed a bond with him, and she wasn't about to let Mary break that bond.

Spencer right away ran over taking Elizabeth.

Mary felt a bit stung when Elizabeth started crying. She shook it off though figuring the girl had been through a lot.

Spencer smiled softly taking off her shoes and tights before starting to get her clean up some. As he wiped her down he smiled.

Elizabeth smiled a bit when Spencer praised her. She didn't get much of that at her old house. When he asked if he could put her in a diaper her face fell. "But I not a baby." She said softly, sounding sad.

Elizabeth frowned. She didn't want to wear wet underwear but certainly didn't want to wear a diaper. "Wet undies." She mumbled softly.

Spencer looked over.

"Please no diaper." Elizabeth begged. Her eyes were filling with tears. She looked so frail and precious, her big brown eyes and tight ponytails with little red bows.

Elizabeth wrapped herself around Spencer and slipped her thumb in her mouth. She rested her head on his shoulder and started to fall asleep.

Spencer smiled carrying her out and to the carseat. Once there he put her in getting the harness done up before smiling.
