Nat
What are your pet peeves when writing a story. 2 Link to comment
Kaidus
Here are mine: If/when inspired by another to write one based on story, give credit where credit is due even if no permission is given prior (it's only fair) If blessed to take over on one, cross reference with the original work (I had 2 attempts) Try not to rush (rushed through only once, maybe twice) If asked a question, answer it as politely as possible (manners) Writer's block as well Know the facts before writing (made that mistake oh, so many times) If proof for something is required (e.g. a hunch), ask if #2 is in play [#6 reference] I apologize if this sounds rude, but I need to get this out: I might've made a number of mistakes whenever I write a story for here, but I admit to them; it's mostly on #'s 6 & 7 that I refer to. sonofninasayers
Mine are not coming up with ideas, writers block, thinking of what my characters saying, doing etc, continuing them from where I last left off, trying to word something Link to comment
JDL23
It probably goes without saying that writer's block is a pet peeve for Link to comment
Princess Pottypants
I always hate coming up with character names. Sometimes a name will just jump out at me as being right for a character, but a lot of the time, I worry that it's one I've used before. Figuring out that first paragraph or so can also be pretty tough for me. Link to comment

ausdpr
My new pet peeve is realising that my writing is awful and apparently dyslexic wherever I've made changes. Link to comment

Chicago_daddy_84
the time it takes to write once you are way into a story remembering details from a number of chapters pervious Link to comment
sonofninasayers
That is so true for when you start writing you sometimes end up putting too much detail in than you need for it is easy to get carried away Link to comment
Nat
Getting distracted from my own story. I would love it if the internet went down for a little bit. Link to comment
ausdpr
Does anybody else find that they can fly along just fine until about halfway through writing a story? I have a collection of half-done stories now, all of which were going just fine until about halfway, where writer's block seems to set in and nothing written seems right after that. Link to comment

sonofninasayers
Well that last bit was the writer Jacqueline Wilson's advice. She actually said that if you get stuck or get fed up then leave it for a while and if no new ideas come then lay it aside and start a new one Link to comment
Personalias
I disagree with Jacqueline Wilson's advice. Link to comment
